  1. I believe the State Department needs to look into what is going on with the US Consular at the Nairobi Kenya US Embassy. This is beyond my comprehension because the NVC emphasizes the Consular struggles with COVD19 backlog cases. If the Consular needs staffing to do their job, they have management teams and I do not see any excuse for COVD19 closures. I heard that the Nairobi Kenya US Embassy Consular will still be working on DQ cases in 2022. My wife case DQ on 1/4/2024 and I’m still waiting NVC to schedule an interview appointment. The case type is IR1.
  2. Hello Aly, thank you for sharing your immigration journey! The U.S. immigration process is vague and confusing, not just for you. USCIS will immediately process the case after they approval, but it will depend on how long the NVC confirms and responds to the case. The NVC response cases is different to one another. Mind took 3 months and 21 days after USCIS approval and sent the case. During the waiting time for my wife’s case, I spoke to 2 times the USCIS and they confirmed to me they sent the case immediately after they approved. Also, I sent the two inquiries to NVC asking what’s going on not to confirming the case received and they said after USCIS approving sent the case to NVC it will take more than 30 days to process and respond, however they sent me the confirmation after 3 months and 21 days. My wife case DQ on 1/4/2024 and I’m still waiting NVC to schedule an interview appointment.
  3. The case type: IR1 Filed year 4/15/2022. The case was sent to NVC on 11/7/2023. visa case documentarily qualified on 1/4/2024. The U.S. embassy in Nairobi, Kenya, is a prolonged waiting interview U.S. embassy in East Africa country. The NVC has informed me and told me your case will remain with the NVC until the embassy has an available slot for an interview. They have cited a nonlogical reason for the backlog of cases due to COVID-19 closures. I have been waiting for my wife's visa interview to be scheduled for more than seven moths. What steps have I taken so far: I hired a dedicated law firm for immigration lawyers, which is a very pricey law firm, to file a lawsuit for the agency to do their work. Unfortunately, the team returned and informed me that the U.S. embassy in Nairobi, Kenya, required at least a spouse visa to wait one year after the case was documentarily qualified. They refunded me all the money and told me to come back with us if the embassy does not schedule a visa interview in January 2025. My suggestion for those considering selecting for the U.S. embassy in Nairobi, Kenya. I strongly advise you to go elsewhere because the wait at the U.S. embassy in Nairobi, Kenya, is so long. You will lose money and time during this extended period of time. In particular, some documents require renewal after 12 months. This will cause a long separation time and a time consuming.
