It can be anything really. Plenty of people get status updates of "updated name" or "updated address" or similar. My suspicion is that in majority of cases that's just a do-nothing status update, basically someone took it off the stack for some reason, and in order to put it back they need to do something to it, and just clicking on update name and then apply is the least intrusive option.
So unless someone is actively trying to screw with you and would actually risk jailtime to set your name to something stupid, I wouldn't worry about it.
Thank you because when I did my name change I received another one a couple of days later saying it was completed. Than out of no where received this one so I was wondering was it an error on their part.

Hello,
I didn’t submit an inquiry to USCIS but just received an email from USCIS that they have 10 days to answer my inquiry…. Is this a spam? No I do not have a lawyer and the last time I asked for them to change my last name it was answered in 2 days and I got the response. Does anyone know what this means?

Hello everyone,
if anyone has got approved in Vermont how long has the processing for I-130s been for you?
or has it been the standard 14-15 months ?

Same! Their standard business days are definitely Monday - Friday but I too have certainly seen some weekend approval dates. Not sure if someone is actively working on the weekend or if the system just happened to generate the approval letter on the weekend. I think either is very feasible. Either way, I just pray the pace picks up. It's daunting 🥹
We just have to think positive they are moving along with these July cases which means they will get to us sooner than later!
i have a question tho because ever since I reached out to a live agent my progress has changed EVERYDAY 4 months, 7 months, 16 months, 17 months etc. I am wondering if that means they are in my case or something?

I wanted to share an update on my expedite request. I didn’t hire a lawyer and instead submitted a new secure message through myUSCIS to request the expedite. This time, it passed the pre-screening, confirming that my request met the minimum criteria, and I was assigned a referral ID at the Potomac Service Center. However, it’s now been 18 days, and their initial response said they’d get back to me within 10 days.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? Is this a typical timeframe, or could it mean they’ve reviewed my request but didn’t find it urgent enough to even send a response?
Also, I’m now 13 months into the process, and I’m expecting a decision around the 14-month mark. So, even if the expedite gets approved, it may not make much of a difference at this point.
they havent denied it. They havent even looked at my request they just keep updating the "my progress" tab... and my PD is 8/9/23

Yeah I’m June 25th and haven’t heard anything either. I feel the same, all we can do is hang in there and try to live as much in the present as we can. One way or another we will hear something eventually.
Wanted to share this that I seen on another app. Hopefully you will hear something soon!

I'm certain by now you must've seen all those posts/comments advising those estimates are not correct and really don't mean anything. I've seen people being at 5 months…. 10 months until decision on the day their case gets approved. Do yourself a favor and don't give those estimates too much thought.
you are right I am trying!

Has anyone had this happen to them? my case was in taking longer to process for the past 5 months than all of a sudden it updated to 4 months which the wait would be 17 months!!!

As we are approaching the 13th month I have went to see my husband once this year because I am working two jobs here to make ends meet. I work for the Veterans Hospital and my job is crucial where I can’t take time off since I am the only person that does doctors schedules. I am wondering can I upload more evidence and if that would either hurt or help my case? I keep getting mixed reviews some people saying that it will take longer and I really can’t take time off because I am doing two jobs. Any guidance would help

Have you tried reaching out to the senator of your state to see if they can help?

Question for everyone,
The date USCIS received my case was 8/9/23 but the notice date was 9/22.
Because from August filers I see a lot of people timelines saying approvals for Sept but mine is saying November... just wondering if USCIS is basing it off the notice date?

I have been seeing August 2023 approvals that have filed the K-3s. I did reach out to my Congress men they did tell me I was in my normal processing time. And uscis did deny my expedite. Hoping at least by the end of September they start August approvals 🙏
