Theo and I met at Jiminy Peak ski-resort in Massachusetts, USA. Theo was on a J1 working holiday Visa in the United States from December 2003 until April 2004 working at Jiminy Peak as part of their international work exchange program. I was working at Jiminy Peak as a ski instructor in the Ski-Wee department of the resort. In early January we met and became a instant couple, very much in love.
We continued our relationship throughout his stay in the US, and after he returned to South Africa, we kept in touch using the internet (chatting on Skype, Instant Messaging and email). In November 2004 Theo came to the US once more under the J1 Visa program and again worked at Jiminy Peak, and our relationship continued. Theo stayed until March 2005 and went back to South Africa. Still continuing our relationship across the ocean, I decided to go and visit him in his home country, South Africa. I went over from June 2006 until July 2006 (1 months stay) and met his whole family and saw his country! It was an amazing experience.
Theo was by this time finished with his studies and could not come over again on a J1 Visa. We carried on with our relationship throughout the year and in the beginning of April 2007 I made my second trip to South Africa and stayed there until the end of June 2007. During my stay, on May 5 2007, Theo proposed to me in Camps Bay, South Africa, and of course I said YES!
Theo came to visit me in the US for a month from December 13 2007 until January 12 2008 to celebrate the holidays together. In this time we had the chance to arrange some of our wedding plans together. We decided to set the date of our wedding for August 30, 2008, and thus we are now applying for a K1 Fiancé Visa for Theo.
