  1. Thanks a lot. I am going to get my dad to co-sponsor. I don't want to delay this any more than is necessary.
  2. Thanks a lot for the info. I have been reading posts about people who qualify through assets, yet still have to get a joint sponsor because they have insufficient income. So I figured I would also get a joint sponsor since it couldn't hurt and would probably help. Although to be honest, I am so far over the required amount, it does seem a bit silly.
  3. Hello. I am sponsoring my wife for a visa and am working on gathering the materials and evidence for the I-864. I am currently unemployed and will use my assets (which are well over 3x the poverty level) as well as my dad as a joint sponsor. I have two children in the household with U.S. citizenship who are both under 18 and who have fairly sizeable U.S. bank accounts of which I am their custodian. I considered filling out I-864A forms for them, but unfortunately it only applies to children over 18. Would it be possible to include the kid's bank accounts as part of my my assets or are they both basically out of the picture until they turn 18? If anybody out there has tried anything similar I'd appreciate hearing your experiences. Thanks in advance!
