  1. Wanted to start a thread to see if anyone else recently interviewed at MTL and has been 'Refused' on CEAC. My partner reached out to his congressmans office about it since MTL took my passport and verbally approved me, they got back to us and said our case is in 221g Administrative Processing, no time frame I interviewed Jan 6th, 2025 and it was pretty straightforward, she took my passport and verbally approved me, said I'll get my passport back in 2 weeks. I provided them with the originals and photocopies of every document they asked for, and they had received my medical well in advance before my interview, so its most likely not a missing information thing. Really bummed out and stressed about it. My case on CEAC had updated on Jan 6th, 13th, 14th, 16th, and stayed on Refused. Holiday season just ended and I'm sure probably backed up with extra mail from the month long Canada Post strike in November, so I can't say I'm totally surprised, but it does suck seeing others on reddit and stuff interviewing for IR1/CR1s at the same time I did and getting their passport back in the same week lol Lets keep each other updated?
  2. thanks, im just jealous because so many other people recently at MTL got their passport back in <1week for K1s 😭😭😭😭
  3. I interviewed Jan 6th in Montreal for my K1 and they told me im approved and took my passport, said I should get it back within 2 weeks. I didn't get the 221g slip and i was not emailed for extra info/ds5535. My case on CEAC is still stuck on 'Refused' since the 6th, updating on the 13th, 14th, and 16th. I'm starting to get worried if there will be delays or if I am in AP and it could take months to receive my visa/passport. Anyone else have a similar experience?
  4. hey could you update? how many days after interview did you get your visa and passport?
  5. hey any updates? I interviewed and was verbally approved jan 6, 2025, no 221g, no ds5535 (or whatever it is), didnt get contacted for extra info, medical was sent/confirmed by dr well in advance of interview, status has just been 'refused' since then, starting to get worried...
  6. aw boo this is the worst]]: its really disheartening especially because ive seen so many on facebook and discord groups at the MTL embassy get theirs in <1 week, and mines also still stuck on 'refused' status which i havent really seen anyone else get either, really stressful 💔
  7. Hi everyone, I interviewed in MTL on January 6th and I was approved on the spot and given a paper for tracking. I know January 9th was a holiday and the embassy was closed so that will add another day to my visa/passport processing, so its technically only the 3rd business day now. I was wondering if anyone else here had interviewed/been verbally approved around the same time as me could share their timeline/CEAC tracking updates because I'm really impatient and hoping to receive my visa soon. I also wanted to see if anyone elses status is/was changed from Ready to 'Refused' on the day of their interview like mine, the last update is still the day of my interview, January 6th, no CEAC update since then. I also haven't been contacted for any additional info/no 221g, so I hope that 'Refused' is just the normal ''processing'' for MTL, can anyone confirm/share their experience? I was hoping id get my passport and visa back in my hand by the 17th since since I've seen lots of people at MTL get their visa in about 5-8 business days on average in the last couple months in a discord server im in, am I being too optimistic?
  8. Apologies if this is in the wrong spot, My petitioner has 2 kids that he has 50-50 custody of with their mothers and he does not claim them as dependants on his taxes; on the i-134f when it asks how many dependants he has should it be 0 or 2? > side question, since they are not claimed as his dependants on his taxes would his income requirement be based on a household size of 2 (myself and him)?- or 4(myself, him, 2 kids)? Thanks
  9. I've already tried those emails listed there and they were no help, and the link for the public inquiry is broken/doesnt work. I already tried a public inquiry form earlier and they said it is no longer USCISs, id have to reach out to the consulate in montreal, which i cannot reach by phone or email....
  10. heres the thing the montreal consulate is essentially unreachable. i tried every email and they said they cant help and that the emails are either only for americans asking general questions or that they only deal with non immigrant visa questions, and through the phone theres no way to speak to a real person, its just a robot repeating very vague and useless information. will i just have to write them a letter in the mail?
  11. my mom had asked my sister to grab the mail and she said there was something for me and she said my mom had taken it from her and my mom is saying that she took nothing lol. im worried that it was instructions to schedule my interview which neither myself or my partner received any info on yet. i know when we filed we submitted an electronic notification form with his number and email, but i cant remember if the initial i129f also asked for my email too, so i dont think theres any way they would have my email.
  12. Hi, i'm in a unique situation, our k1 had been approved in May and sent to Montreal. However, I believe I received the welcome letter/instructions to schedule my interview in the mail and my parents have stolen/hidden it from me. Could someone please show me/let me know the steps on how to schedule or even just send a pic of their letter? Or is there unique information on the letter that I'd have to use to schedule my interview? (I do have the NVC case number, the one that starts with MTL.... and the initial WAC.... case number from when we first filed too) Thanks so much!!
