  1. Your fiancé files the petition so will want the petition receipts/notices to come to him. The address change info is for any active application with USCIS. Later after the petition is approved, you are done with USCIS for a bit. When your case has reached the embassy in London, you (beneficiary) will apply for the visa through the Department of State.(not USCIS). You can put new addresses for either of you on your visa application. At that point (case in London) he (UScitizen) is not going to be receiving anything by mail.

    Gp summary

It’s a NHS printout and there is no set length of time. It is not you actual records from the GP office. It might have only a few visits summarized, prescriptions….they vary.
  3. Typo above. Should be “when spouses enter the US late in the year…….”
  4. You are filing a joint return for the tax year 2022, so you report the earned income and unearned income for both filers for the entire tax year—-Jan 1 to Dec 31. You can file Form 2555 (Foreign Earned Income Exclusion) so she is not taxed twice on her income before entering the US. When spouses enter the UK late in the year, they haven’t been in the US enough days to qualify as a resident alien for tax purposes. They have to include a written statement signed by both electing for the foreign spouse to be treated as a resident for tax filing. It’s a perk for being married to a US citizen. This has nothing to do with immigration status with USCIS; it is IRS jargon that allows one to file taxes using the resident alien rules.. Your wife, entering in June, has enough days of physical presence in the US in 2022 to be a resident alien for tax purposes without writing a statement. You just file as any two citizens would for a joint return. There is nothing special for her to do because she qualifies as a resident alien (for taxes) based on her physical presence in the US IN 2022. You can efile. Publication 519 found on IRS.GOV is a source of information for aliens and tax filing.
  5. No I don’t think that will be an issue, it still gives a second thing (besides the letter) to show the money.
  6. Times have just gotten bogged down over the years. My ROC was the most pages of any of my applications. I also did not have an adjustment of status RFE or interview. That had zero bank statements. We married and filed within a week after my entry into the US. We didn’t really have much to show at that point but a marriage certificate and a few very casual wedding photos with close friends. I did collect things as we went along in case we had an interview.
  7. I got on with no RFE, no interview, no issues. Everybody has to decided what they are most comfortable with.
  8. I am unconventional and go with my own logic rather than sending masses of redundant paper because eager forum members suggest it. You’ll have to decide what makes sense to you. To me 500 pages is not going to be viewed and there is a greater chance they will 1) leave it sitting on the desk/shelf forever because it is going to be a drudgery to go through, 2) miss something important because it’s HUGE, Bank statements. My thought were if you have the same bank, same names, same address and account number, it is a certainty that you had that account for the full duration. So I sent 4 statements total.(for two different banks) —earliest, two middle,, most recent. I did try to pick middle ones that showed the account was used based on big differences in beginning balance and ending balance. A joint account with the same $500 in it every month for 2 years proves nothing. I also sent only the first page of the 4 bank statements because it showed we shared an account, address, and the balances might have $5000 swings in the selected month. Removing conditions is not about proving income so I decided to not show them every single place we spent money. It’s about jointness and commingling. On that same thought, our three joint tax transcripts were first page only to show we filed jointly. Credit card statements. None. I laid out five joint credit cards his/hers on the copier. Our account numbers were the same on the matching cards so it showed we shared five accounts on one piece of paper. It did blank out a few middle numbers with tape for a bit more security. I think you can see in the examples how I reduced lots of paper. Other evidence (trying to remember). One page had three State Farm auto insurance proofs all copied on one paper. They are small. Again, early middle, recent dates. Other cards lined up on one page…matching library cards, and ID cards for fun community classes we took. One page of driver licenses from two cities. Cat adoption papers in both names. Three dental receipts that showed we went same day and had both names. A cute“”We’re Moving” postcard we sent to friends with new contact info. Two photo Christmas cards we sent. Some paperwork from sale of house. A couple of trips showing we sat by each other (boarding passes). As you can see we had odd random stuff because we did not have a lot of the traditional things. Only one joint utility bill, houses were only in wife’s name. Did not share a phone plan, health insurance, or kids. Pictures. Yes lots, but they were created like a collage on regular printer paper so 8-10 on two pages with captions. And they weren’t all fixed up beautiful occasions. More realistic life like house painting in messy clothes, hanging Christmas lights, selfie with the cat. Cooking out with family, hanging out at the coffee shop with friends. And some from trips abroad. Evidence covered basically from our K1 visa marriage which was followed within 5 months by greencard so time frame was close together.
  9. You can bring an alternate I-864 from a parent to pull out when you see the officer (second time called up) if needed. If they have a joint tax return, you will have to clearly prove the sponsor’s separate income because the tax return lumps joint income together. Or the parent not sponsoring can fill out an I-864a to accompany the I-864. However my dozen or so years experience with the UK FORUM and London interviews thinks you will have no problem at the interview if you exceed $22,887. If you’re over the minimum, London won’t quibble wanting more. Chances are, your form may have been lacking something. When that happens the NVC says get a joint sponsor instead of saying what might be wrong. A tip is on the section called my current income, Make sure you prove with written evidence the number you put in that box. You mentioned a letter stating your stipend income. Get a letter stating the salary portion as well. (I may have misunderstood and the one letter stated the full $37k.) If your letter(s) states $36, 990, don’t put $37,000 on your form because you haven’t proven $37k. Do you get monthly pay stubs that would show stipend and salary? Bring six months of those, but again, don’t overstate your income on the form beyond what those add up to (extending over a 12 month period). You can pass on $36k or 35k so don’t state more than you can show in writing.
  10. @Jules15 Mine was just an orderly stack (75 total pages) with no cover letter, holes, contents, tabs, or clips. I put the stack in an old folder to squash it down to more easily slide it into the cardboard USPS Priority mailer. Very minimalistic and approved with no RFE, no interview, no issues. I think the presentation is not as important as most think. Contractors open the mail and USCIS officers do not see your efforts.
  11. On domestic flights, there is no CBP or customs to pass through. You fly with whatever your airline requires as photo ID to board the plane. When it lands, get your luggage and walk out the door.
  12. Sounds like you have everything well in hand. I was just thinking about your quote and I shipped 23 boxes plus a crated antique clock for around that much., albeit it was by boat in a container and took several weeks to arrive.
  13. Just want to say parroting back an answer is not what I did at all. My wife, a teacher, helped me comprehend all of the government questions and gave me background on the historical things over the course of living in the US . I felt like I actually understood more than just memorizing for the test. During the test, I believe the interviewer saw that I knew the material and wasn’t trying to recite some memorized answer like I really I had no clue about the topic. Try starting with the test questions right now in small bites and digest the information through help from your spouse. I realize he may not understand the US either if he never paid attention to his government of history classes, but it is a great way to learn vs memorizing for a test. Hope he can help. This is a suggestion for anybody preparing for citizenship.
  14. Have you gotten a quote from this company? https://www.shipit.co.uk. Their shrink-wrap method of preparing for shipping was excellent. The customer service with 1st Move International was very helpful. Reading on the previous page of this thread, there are several posts concerning lack of assistance from Transglobal with preparing the shipment, lists, and labels.t
  15. Your post is in a thread specifically to say when you receive your interview notice. The UK forum is the place to start a new topic with your UK (London embassy) questions. Can you ask again in the main forum instead of in this thread within In that main forum?
  16. ???? What does the paper have to do with it? A copy is a copy. I think you can talk you way through this easily.
  17. Congratulations. So about 5 weeks to visa after interview with RFE. Enjoy your new adventure.
  18. With a conviction he needs a police certificate and a Subject Access Report. Many police certificates with hidden, expired, or stepped down offences will come back saying “No Live Trace”. For the US to see the full offence, the Subject Access Report is needed. It takes longer to get. I have seen others who only ordered the SAR being told at the interview they needed a police certificate too is why I said both. And it seems some PCs now come back with offences when you specify it is for immigration. I slight change to the process maybe? You might want to see what your PC says before getting the SAR. I’m just giving you all I know that has been posted in this forum over a dozen years. Also with a DUI, expect the medical exam to delve into addiction part of mental health section. They likely will give a test of alcohol so be free of that to help exam go better. Read about the panel physician’s instructions for the visa medical https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/panel-physicians.html?CDC_AA_refVal=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cdc.gov%2Fimmigrantrefugeehealth%2Fexams%2Fti%2Fpanel%2Ftechnical-instructions-panel-physicians.html
  19. Thanks for that timeline. When you get an interview date, you can make your visa medical exam appointment. Then if you are getting shots at the GP (or Boots etc) plan them for about 3 weeks before you have the Visa exam. Then any other Hep doses would be waived for “insufficient time interval”. The Hep B doseing is complicated. The chart says 2, 3, or 4 doses. It depends on the brand you are given. Get one of any brand then get additional waived as explained above. You don’t have to finish the dosing ever. Anything you are missing can also be given at the visa exam for an additional fee.. I see this has been a lengthy process for you. Best wishes for the final bit.
  20. What you may be experiencing the the slow down of Christmas/Boxing Day holidays. Many of the American employees go back to the states for Christmas leaving a smaller staff to handle the load. And of course the Briiish staff may be taking some holiday leave as well. AP can take from a few hours to a few days. They also my be checking the optional security databases to see if there is a name hit since there was the glitch with the police certificate. It sounds like all will be fine, but maybe just a little slower due to reduced staff.
  21. Here is a reference from the London embassy website FAQ’s. We are traveling to the United States to marry and will return to the United Kingdom after marriage. Do I still need a fiancé(e) visa? If you will return to your permanent residence you may apply for a tourist B-2 visa, or if eligible, travel visa free under the Visa Waiver Program. At the time you apply for the visa and/or travel to the United States you will be required to show that you have a residence outside the United States that you do not intend to abandon. There is no set form that this evidence takes as it varies with each person’s circumstances. Source https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visa-faqs/
  22. Get one with less than 4 weeks before your medical date and they can’t require another because a full 4 weeks have to separate doses. Or pay for it at the medical exam £50. Please make a profile and timeline so we know what visa you are seeking and your embassy.
