It’s kinda complicated. But if you have at at least one dose close to your appointment and it is too soon for more, you get a waiver for “insufficient interval”. You won’t need more as long as you get signed off on all shots needed in London. If you wait (K1s can) then in the states, you could be due more shots because you would have to pay a new doctor and the time interval that was waived in London May be fine to get more by the time you see the new doctor called Civil Surgeon. Following info is from CDC. I don’t know what brand(s) they use in the UK. Hepatitis B vaccination Routine vaccination Age 19 through 59 years: complete a 2- or 3-, or 4-dose series 2-dose series only applies when 2 doses of Heplisav-B* are used at least 4 weeks apart 3-dose series Engerix-B or Recombivax HB at 0, 1, 6 months [minimum intervals: dose 1 to dose 2: 4 weeks / dose 2 to dose 3: 8 weeks / dose 1 to dose 3: 16 weeks]) 3-dose series HepA-HepB (Twinrix at 0, 1, 6 months [minimum intervals: dose 1 to dose 2: 4 weeks / dose 2 to dose 3: 5 months]) 4-dose series HepA-HepB (Twinrix) accelerated schedule of 3 doses at 0, 7, and 21–30 days, followed by a booster dose at 12 months 4-dose series Engerix-B at 0, 1, 2, and 6 months for persons on adult hemodialysis (note: each dosage is double that of normal adult dose, i.e., 2 mL instead of 1 mL) *Note: Heplisav-B not recommended in pregnancy due to lack of safety data in pregnant women

CR1 application - supporting docs for interview (merged)
Wuozopo replied to visacats's topic in United Kingdom
London embassy never asks to see this information at the interview so don’t spend a lot of time stressing over it or printing it out. I recall one super dodgy case of 18 yo son petitioning father where they wanted more clarification. If you are a genuine couple, no problem and not needed. this page on the London Embassy page could be helpful. Scroll down to the part that starts “Case processed by National Visa Center (NVC)” which applies to you. https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/family-immigration/how-to-apply-2/ The first half of the page applied to those that apply straight to embassy and skip NVC processing. Also, there are a number of FAQs linked on the right column that are helpful to be more knowledgeable about the processes. And here is their list of documents for interview https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/family-immigration/required-documents/ Many of those are already in your NVC file but they will need to have a look at the original documents of the beneficiary to verify them as legit. No photocopies have to be provided any more. Dropped several years ago and they are already in the digital file from NVC. No civil documents from the US petitioner have to be provided at the interview. This interview is all about you the UK person and your qualifications. The I-864 from the US is all that is needed and I think that is accepted in the copies uploaded to NVC already. You could throw in copies to take anyway. And if anything has changed like a new employer, you can provide a new version at the interview. -
@JoshKT21 In case you need this list— Here are the shots needed for 19 through 59 years of age: Td or Tdap - Tetanus/diptheria/pertussis or get DT, DTP or DtaP and it will be accepted. The latest shot must be no longer than 10 years ago or you need a booster. In the UK they will give Revaxis which is Tetanus/diphtheria +polio. Adults don’t need polio for immigration but that’s the combo available in the UK. They don’t have a Tetanus and diphtheria only jab like Adacel given in the US. MMR - (if born in 1957 or later)-Mumps/measles/rubella. It's two doses in your life, but if you get the first dose, and 4 weeks haven't passed by your medical, they will waive the second dose for "insufficient time interval". If you only had one dose as a child, get a second one before the medical. Varicella - Not routinely given in the UK. A history of having chickenpox excuses you from the shot. They take your word for it at the visa medical exam. They will also waive the shot in the UK for "not routinely available". Influenza - Required during flu season only, October 1 through March 31. If your medical is not during flu season, you don't need it. Hepatitis B - required for all applicants up to 59 years old. COVID-19 vaccine - Completely vaccinated with primary dose 1&2. No boosters required at this time.(New starting 1-Oct-2021).

Things you can take for reference to shots not digitized. The “little red book” that mum’s used to have as record of shots A manual write up by the clinic if they can see older manual records. My nurse just hand wrote on a paper and signed it herself with a stamp of the practice name and address. if you had chickenpox as a child, you just tell them at the visa clinic and your Varicella jab is waived and recorded “history of varicella”. Mostly for this purpose, a record of 2 MMR as a child would take care of that shot requirement. Everything else should be in your 2013 and forward records because as an adult, they don’t have to record every baby shot you ever had. You only need to prove the adult appropriate shots. The visa clinic will tell you you do not even need any shots for a K1visa. While that is correct, it is not a good choice to defer until you file for your greencard after marriage. You will have to pay a new US doctor for shots, an exam, blood tests, and TB test. Maybe $350 plus shots. Just saw one charged $650. And another denied their AOS because the US doctor messed up the immunisation form. If you get all shots needed signed off as complete for AOS when you attend your visa medical, you are done forever with doctors and shots when you get to the US. The London clinic is bad about telling folks to just go get their shots at their GP before leaving for the US and all will be well. Not without paying a new US doctor $350-$650. Insist on them getting your shots sorted and signed off before they send your report to the embassy. Don’t let them talk you out of it. They do not know how it works with Adjustment of Status.

Amending returns for 2019 & 2020
Wuozopo replied to Chancy's topic in Tax & Finances During US Immigration
I think you are done with the previous years. Your 1099-INT is new for2022 filing. Generally those have until Jan 31 to arrive. Had you already filed,, your 2022 likely would have gone through as normal and any refunds paid. Then in a year you would have had a letter audit for 2022 saying you missed a 1099-INT and we have calculated you owe $xx. And it would have told you how to pay. If the interest was a small amount it may not have even bumped you up to owing additional. That was my experience with a relative’s return. The interest item was something new so not remembered. The 1099 arrived in March(!?} while the return had been filed in Feb. He just stuck the late 1099 notice in a folder and ignored it. It was a year later before the IRS followed up with a letter audit saying interest had not been reported with their calculation of what was due. It’s kind of a soft audit when the IRS computer catches a discrepancy in their reports and what the return reported. -

Marrying my US fiance who is incarcerated. I'm from the UK.
Wuozopo replied to melaniekeeble's topic in United Kingdom
I suggest you take a step back and think about this. What will you gain by being married? What cost and hassles do you go through? I would say let him get out and find a job before you jump into a marriage. So much can change in four years. Have you already met in person before incarceration? How much time did you spend together outside of prison? -
Order the police certificate now. She has to take it to the medical exam, which comes before the interview. It needs to come back saying “No trace”. If she has a caution or other hidden incident, it will say “no live trace”. If so, then order the Subject Access Report from ACRO, which takes a bit longer. Dress code: There has been none for the 14 years I have been following the UK forum on Visa Journey. You will see everything from men in suits to others wearing cut off jeans and sandals. The interview is about 5 minutes standing at a window (like the post office) so they don’t really see anything but your top. It is very friendly and relaxed. Tip: Tell her to check her shot records and get any she lacks BEFORE her medical exam. It will save her hassle and expense later if she gets signed off at her UK medical. Start right NOW. Here are the shots needed for 19 through 59 years of age: Td or Tdap - Tetanus/diptheria/pertussis or get DT, DTP or DtaP and it will be accepted. The latest shot must be no longer than 10 years ago or you need a booster. In the UK they will give Revaxis which is Tetanus/diphtheria +polio. You’ll probably want to copy and save this information. It is London specific and a good order in which to do things. When the petition is approved and the case passes through NVC and arrives at the embassy in London, they will mail the beneficiary (her) instructions of how to proceed. She does not actually need this letter for anything, such as providing at her medical or interview. You the petitioner will receive will receive notification from the NVC when they are sending the case to London and the new case number starting with LND. Then she can check CEAC status for arrival in London. When it says “ready” it means the case is in London and she can carry on with her part. Submit DS-160 (visa application) with her new address. Get documents gathered. Police certificate, birth certificate with parent names, your I-134 affidavit of support. There is a list on the London embassy website. https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/required-documents/ Make a medical appointment. See clinic info for what you will need before the appointment. Make sure you will have all that in hand before the appointment date you choose. Clinic https://visamedicals.co.uk/united-states/ Make Visa appointment allowing time for the medical results to be finalized and sent to the embassy. 10 days.after medical is good. Appointment (scroll down to the green part) https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv Note: Select “I have received a letter from the consular section with instructions to register or schedule a K visa appointment”; even though she won’t get the letter at her new address. It’s okay.

Delayed Medical due to children Covid Vaccine 2nd shot
Wuozopo replied to sunnyd01's topic in United Kingdom
The family does not have visas yet. They are trying to meet the requirements of getting one. Not sure this applies. If one could confuse the medical blokes and the consulate with the verbiage, maybe they could slip by. Wondering how others read this? This seems to indicate applicants may have other rules. It’s helpful that you are digging for loopholes. Good effort. -
Delayed Medical due to children Covid Vaccine 2nd shot
Wuozopo replied to sunnyd01's topic in United Kingdom
It comes down to bureaucracy of immigration. Do you want to immigrate and follow the requirements for admission or not? I understand you have strong feelings about this and it is a difficult choice for you. I follow an epidemiologist who explains the science and I believe the immunisations to be a way you can protect your children. I don’t follow political leanings or what the neighbors are doing. Covid has not gone away and it is constantly mutating and changing. Our close friend who is a Nurse Practicioner (higher level of nursing degree) got her four children immunised immediately upon them reaching the age level allowed or the age levels lowered. So we have different experiences with trusted professionals. We have a close family connection with the head doctor of a large pediatric hospital. He is also an infectious disease expert and spent his early career saving thousands of children across the globe of AIDS at the time of its onset. I know of the overflow of pediatric Covid infections at his hospital and his efforts to save the little ones. He believes in vaccination so we are influenced by that too. Everybody has their own opinions or reasons. That is just some examples of why we get vaccinated and boosted. I’ve had 4 shots/boosters and my wife has had six with no ill effects except for a bit if a sore arm. We’ve had an okay experience thus far. I hope you can work out something that you are comfortable with. -
Delayed Medical due to children Covid Vaccine 2nd shot
Wuozopo replied to sunnyd01's topic in United Kingdom
I don’t know the ages of the child/children. That’s why I gave the link for more detailed information. “not age appropriate “ waiver is based on the manufacturing company’s.EUA Pfizer and Moderna have EUA for 6 months and older. “Not routinely given” isn’t a waiver. A religious objection would fly if one had substantial evidence of religious affiliation that opposes vaccines, and the child had never had any type of other vaccination. They could also decide to stay in England if the immunisation is more than they are willing to do. The interview and medical can be rescheduled if they decided to immunise and need more time. -
Yes that should be enough time. You can call them…maybe Tuesday…and ask if it has been sent.and when. If anything was wrong with your x-Ray, they would have talked to you about it at your appointment. People have posted they had a chest cold and they were told their x-ray looked cloudy so they would have to have another done when the cold cleared up. I think you are fine if they didn’t ask for any further testing or evaluation by a psychiatrist or something like that, which happens.

Delayed Medical due to children Covid Vaccine 2nd shot
Wuozopo replied to sunnyd01's topic in United Kingdom
Yes, children need both primary doses if they want an immigrant visa.. Read all the long details and specifics from the CDC here https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/panel-physicians/covid-19-technical-instructions.html And just a personal strong opinion. Get everybody in your family (eligible by age) vaccinated. And get your boosters. It’s important whether immigrating or not. -
It takes a few days for the bloodwork results to come back from the lab. If there was any surprise problem like STDs, they would contact you. Once they get the lab results, they finalize the report and send it over to the embassy. They don’t contact you to tell you it’s okay and sent. No news is good news.

@Poppy65100 This timeline does not apply to you as a K1. You might fix your profile to show your visa type. You are at NVC only to transition from Uscis to the Department of State, who issues visas and is over the NVC and embassies. You get a new Dept of State case number and sent on to London and that’s all that happens for you at NVC. See my earlier reply to you.
-
According to your timeline, you are seeking a K1 visa. Your process is different than those posting about spouse visa timelines.. You will not send anything to NVC so won’t be getting DQ or an interview assigned. NVC will assign you a new case number and pass you on to London. You will pick your own appointment date once your file is in London and they have logged your case as ready. You control when your medical and interview appointments are because you choose them. Advice: Check your shot record and get all shots needed (for your adjustment status in the US) BEFORE you go to your medical. Order your police certificate NOW. It needs to say “No trace” or you may need a subject access report. Get you fiancé to prepare an I-134 with proof of income to mail to you. If you have questions about any of these things, start a new topic since those are not the topic of this thread.

Just go with what you have and see if the visa medical doctor wants more. They may hold your medical results waiting for a report explaining your condition. When you supply that, they send completed results directly to the embassy. You can still interview even if your medical results are not at the embassy. Your visa decision will be paused until the results arrive and somebody assesses them. You may get a form that looks like you were denied, but you are really just paused, so don’t panic. When the medical results arrive and somebody get around to viewing them, your case gets back in the queue for approval and issue, then delivery. They won’t likely pick up your case the same day the results arrive. It could be a couple of days or a week if they are real busy. You just wait patiently and the visa will be issued.

This FAQ page on the embassy website says https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visa-faqs/the-interview-2/ Do children need to attend the immigrant visa interview? Yes. All applicants registered for immigration, including children, are required to visit the Consulate in person for a formal visa interview.

Aca subsidies and I-864
Wuozopo replied to Acasubsidy's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
I found a lawyer’s opinion Andrew LathamSeptember 26, 2019 at 9:30 pm Thank you for the great content! What about Obamacare? If I sponsor someone and they receive subsidies through Obamacare (not Medicare) will the government ask me to repay those subsidies? Greg McLawsenSeptember 26, 2019 at 9:34 pm Hi, Andrew. Nope – there’s no obligation to repay ACA Healthcare costs or any private healthcare. Medicaid is a different story, but ACA Healthcare is "safe."
