  1. Update the thread on how it all works out and you can thank us by filling out your timeline and keep it updated. Your timeline will improve the overall stats here at VJ and can help inform others on a similar journey as yours!
  2. Yes.... but remember this was going to be in exchange for permanent resident status, and the way they tried to sell it to me was, "You can live here forever and only check in with BoI once per year!" LOL I wasn't interested in bribing government officials.
  3. Jaycel and I have an almost 30 year age gap, and during her interview the Consular Officer did ask how we met. She said that her answer to that question was the one he seemed to pay the most attention to and was looking in her eyes the whole time she was answering. She said the rest of the interview was very formulaic by comparison and he only appeared to be half paying attention. On a similar note as yours above, when I lived there in the Philippines with Jaycel for a year, I was approached no less than 4 times while I was extending my tourist visa by people (who looked like they for sure were in Bureau of Immigration uniforms, except with the shirt covered up or taken off) offering to get me a permanent resident visa for the small fee of 500,000 PHP. Needless to say I did not want to risk breaking the law over there and continued extending my tourist visa until I had to move back here to the US.
  4. Glad to hear she got served. Now do your part for yourself and your daughter. Do not accept any contact from her whatsoever going forward. You have the right attitude in your post above. Just focus on pouring your energies into being the best father you can for your daughter and being the best you for yourself. Jaycel and I will pray for a stable path ahead for you. Stay strong! 😊
  5. What category I-130 is it? Spousal? Parent? Child? Are you the petitioner? Are you a US Citizen?
  6. They probably lost it or it didn’t get scanned in by the lockbox. Easiest way to respond is to send them another one. Include a cover letter with your name, your beneficiary’s name, your I-129F receipt number, the RFE reference number, and state that you are enclosing the death certificate from your deceased spouse. Put all original pages of the RFE on top of your cover letter and death certificate and mail it in to the address they told you to send it. Make copies of the entire response package before you send it in to keep for your records
  7. Today's stats: March 10, 2024 15:35 MDT November 2024 Filed I-485 Stats • Approved: 250 • Denied: 106 • FingerprintScheduled: 263 • InterviewCancelled: 30 • InterviewScheduled: 114 • Processing: 38,773 • Received: 808 • Rejected: 107 • RFE: 1,616 • Terminated: 103 • Withdrawal: 1 • Others: 92 LOTS of the activity by USCIS today has been cancelling interviews. Not just for November filers, all the other months being tracked as well (59 cancellations today from what I can see).... Not sure what that means. @OldUser Any thoughts?
  8. They updated the site to say the following: Starting 4/3/25 we will only accept the 01/20/25 edition. Until then, you can also use the prior edition(s).
  9. @csh2020 Stay strong - Do what's best for you and your daughter going forward. Once the papers are served, blocking her is the best thing you can do. I might add, get really good at starting a video recording on your phone in case she shows up after all of this to make a scene with you. That way you will have evidence of what transpired.
  10. As I'm digging deeper @hplusj I see 09-283 block I-485s with received dates spanning back to late September 2024 as well
  11. With the I-134 (and subsequently the I-864 for the AOS), current income is king. If you get a job before the time the form is needed, this is proven with pay stubs and an employment verification letter (if your employer will provide one). If that current income is more than the poverty level guidelines for the form, then assets are not required to be disclosed. The I-134 does not require you to provide any info regarding your tax situation except this part from the "Supporting Evidence" section of the instructions: Copy of last U.S. federal income tax return filed (tax transcript). If you did not file a Federal tax return, or if your Federal tax return does not properly reflect your current income, submit copies of consecutive pay statements (stubs) for a minimum of the past month, recent Form W-2, or Form SSA-1099.
  12. You will need the original, certified copy from the court (usually has a raised, dry seal on it) to send to USCIS. Once the case is adjudicated, USCIS will return the originals. I know this all from my experience getting an RFE on the I-129F for not providing the original, court certified copies of the disposition of the case.
  13. So I see quite a few early receipt numbers from 09-283 were received the last week in October and now I see 269 approvals for that block
  14. I think 283 spans Oct and Nov We are 09-286 and we filed Nov 18th
  15. Exactly the right attitude to have during the entire immigration process... do everything in your power to minimize the ability of the decision makers to deny or delay your progress
  16. Maybe another member on here that has been through this can answer... Sorry we filled out a DS-160 for Jacel's visa. But to me the question is the question regardless of the circumstances. You were issued an A# by DHS, so to me I would answer accurately and list the number. When the embassy pulls that number, all they will see is an approved I-130 associated with it and will validate your other listed visits to the USprior to this petition by other means. Just my humble opinion
  17. If you have been to the US before then you would answer yes and put your A# in the appropriate spot.
  18. That is your A #.... Jaycel's was issued on our I-129F approval notice.
  19. This is the best strategy.... If you keep it no more often to once an hour, you should not get locked out. This is how we were able to get Jaycel's appointment. We were checking about once every 65 minutes to be sure we didn't get a lockout. We just happened to come across an appointment that someone else must have canceled because it was the only one available for the whole month when the calendar popped up on that attempt. Just keep at it.

  21. Happy to help! Good luck and hit me up if you need anything
  22. No original needed… just fill it out, sign it and then scan and email 😊
  23. Send her the updated version… While you’re moving forward through this whole immigration journey, my suggestion is to do what Jaycel and I do. Regardless of how small the detail is, do everything within your control to give as little reason possible for the decision makers to make an adverse decision in your case.
