  1. Frome everything I've read from people's experiences, it all seems dependent on the skills of the CBP Officer at primary inspection. If they are comfortable doing the whole process they will do it there like they did with Jaycel. Hers only took 5-7 minutes and she was released to go. If they don't know how or don't feel comfortable doing it they will send you to secondary where you have to wait for an officer that can process you.
  2. Hahahahaha.... We are still using small binder clips to separate the three forms and their associated documents (I-485, I-864 & I-765) and to secure the checks and passport photos to it because I don't trust them opening it and not having stuff fall to the floor and get lost. LOL
  3. There is also updated guidance from USCIS regarding paperclips, staples, tabs, etc
  4. We got Jaycel's A number on her I-129F NOA2 - So not strange at all
  5. She was by herself... Zero problems. (And I had a police record too from 30 years ago that was fully disclosed to USCIS, the Embassy and of course my fiancee long before.) Those "scary PoE" stories are such outliers that they are nothing but fear porn and if you read the vast majority of people's experience coming in on K-1s, their PoE experiences are good with the exception of some extended wait times in secondary inspection at times.
  6. I would list any address you lived, even if it was only temporary. My philosophy with USCIS is to not leave anything out.
  7. @hplusj We are sending out Jaycel's I-485/I-765 on Thursday 11/14! So happy your biometrics has been scheduled! I have a question for you, don't you get your online access code on the NOA1? If that's true, how are you seeing the the docs online? Are you just checking with the receipt number that they texted/emailed to you?
  8. Ahhh ok... I didn't know those kind of sites would be restricted from overseas
  9. Google is your friend 🙂 Do research now while you are waiting to enter the country. At least it will get you familiar with what you are heading into and it won't be all new https://www.ilsos.gov/departments/drivers/drivers_license/drlicid.html#tvdl
  10. Agreed with this... as soon as we saw Jaycel's I-94 online (like 4 days after her PoE), we applied for her SSN online at ssa.gov - When we completed the application online we printed the confirmation and then it took us to a page to make an appointment at the local SSA office to complete the application. Bring Passport, I-94 print out, Birth Certificate and application confirmation page to the SSA appointment. We had Jaycel's SSN card in the mail 6 days after the appointment
  11. As long as they satisfy the requirements at the session, they will receive their certificates digitally the same day via email. CFO advises not to book flights until they have the certificate but I booked Jaycel's flight the same day I booked her CFO (scheduled to depart 2 days later) and fortunately they did not give her any trouble. It's all about how much risk tolerance you have... do you have the funds to re-book all the flights if necessary
  12. At Jaycel's PoE in Los Angeles, all they asked her for was the Passport w/ visa and the yellow packet. They asked her what was the address she was staying at in the US and how much money she brought into the country. 5-7 minutes and she was stamped and good to go.
  13. It's only been 4 days since they received it.... No reason to panic. Lots of stories around lately where it has been taking weeks to receive notification
  14. Ok you should go to that website and register and see what it tells you there. That's the website that is posted on the embassy's website
  15. Does your case status in CEAC say "Ready"? Have you registered on the visa website for the Jamaican Embassy? I would assume there are instructions there once you register. https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-jm/iv
  16. You have to wait for the Embassy's process... If your approval notice expires before the interview, do not panic. The Consular Officer conducting the interview can and will automatically extend the validity of the NOA2 (they do this in 4 month increments). You do not need to do anything to make this happen. I do strongly recommend bringing updated letters of intent to marry from petitioner and beneficiary to the interview. This will cover any questions they have for your intent to marry changing if there are extended delays between petition approval and embassy interview. Good luck and I hope they contact you soon!
  17. @badloss2 I would try to contact the Embassy Immigrant Visa Unit here https://ph.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visa-inquiry-form/
  18. Has anyone noticed any difference in the time it takes for an application to be officially "received" between the USPS PO Box addresses and the courier addresses at the lockboxes? We are getting ready to send in our AOS package to the Phoenix lockbox and are wondering if it will make a difference wether we send it to the PO Box via USPS Priority Express or to the physical address via Fed-Ex. Anyone have experience or even an opinion? Any responses would be greatly appreciated!
  19. Nairobi is a high fraud risk embassy.... (Possible extended AP) If you booked your tickets before the visa is actually in-hand, you may have to re-book. I hope it's quick for you so this does not happen.
