How long for your SSN recently?
Edward and Jaycel replied to Rachel n Tyler's topic in Social Security Numbers
I think it's a case of typical government employees... Some will give you the common timeframe and some will give you the worst case scenario just to cover their behinds. LOL -
Gentle correction here.... The NOA 2 from USCIS for a K-1 does not contain your new case number. That will be assigned by NVC once they enter your case into their system. The NOA 2 should contain your beneficiary's A Number from USCIS, but you will not get your DoS case number until NVC puts you in their system and then, yes, it should start with BMB and a series of numbers beginning with 2024 if they assign it by December 31.

You can contact them using this link… put in the required information and you n the section where it says “Enter your inquiry below:” tell them your NOA2 date and that you are trying to get your case number. In that space also tell them that you want to make sure that they have your and your beneficiary’s correct email addresses and give them both of your email addresses. Then in the spot provided, attach a scan of your NOA2. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html

Ugh 😢 The embassies are so bad at this

I second this... Rapid Visa will do nothing but cause you headaches. If you're going to spend the money anyway, may as well hire an attorney. Co-mingling of finances and evidence of co-habitation as a married couple are the gold standards of a bona fide marriage in USCIS's eyes. A letter explaining why you don't have these things and a story about your relationship will hold no weight with the adjudicator when processing your application for AOS. Rapid Visa is not helping you here. My advice is to file with everything you have currently and while your AOS is processing, work on getting joint accounts opened, get both of your names on the utility/mobile phone bills, etc. so that you have this stuff ready to submit in case you get an RFE or an interview. USCIS knows that when adjusting from a K-1 there is not an abundance of evidence at the AOS stage, so do the best that you can.

Thanks man! Glad you were able to get the records. Glad someone could learn from my RFE experience 🙂 Our AOS package was delivered to the lockbox this morning so now the waiting begins. Appreciate the kind words! -

@ETM8986 That's great!! Was the electronic notice that was in your spam the notice of receipt of your package? What date did the e-notice arrive? Did it give you the receipt number or did that just come with on the NOA in the mail? Sorry for the million questions. LOL We just sent ours via FedEx to the Phoenix LockBox yesterday and it is scheduled to be delivered Monday so I'm trying to get an idea of what to expect. 😁 By the way.... I created a post for us November filers if you want to jump in there

Sorry yes... I got this confused with another post where they went to "Approved". It sounds like they are at least actively working the case
