Under Part 2. Item 2. of the I-485 for the K-2 entrant, did you enter the receipt number from the approved I-129F petition AND under item 3.a. did you check the box next to "Person admitted to the United States as a fiancé(e) or child of a fiancé(e) of a U.S. citizen (K-1/K-2 Nonimmigrant)."?
Yes there absolutely could be a problem. There have been people refused a K-1 visa for being "too married" to qualify for simply having a celebration ceremony in the intending immigrant's home country. I would be very cautious about having any kind of ceremony prior to entering the US on the K-1 visa.
Pakistan has a reputation for long administrative processing times.... 1 month and 13 days is on the very low side of timelines I have seen in the recent past. Please prepare yourself mentally for 2-3 more months of waiting. If it comes sooner than that, then you will be pleasantly surprised.
They can but then you are stuck doing the vaccines here and then hoping you can find a civil surgeon who will do just the vaccine assessment part of the I-693. Most will not do that and you end up doing the whole medical over again. Jaycel and I got really lucky to find one here in Denver to do that for us because she was missing the Polio Vaccine. They were the only one out of roughly 25 that I called that would do just the vaccine assessment,
You are fine with what you have And yes go over the Yes/No questions from the I-485 - Specifically have your husband read them aloud to you. It's very different reading them in your head and answering than it is to hear them asked aloud. This helped Jaycel when it came time at the interview for the officer to ask a bunch of these. Did you scan and upload your evidence into the portal under the "Unsolicited Evidence" section?
Unless it has changed, there is a "Travel Information" section and it will ask you the purpose of your trip to the US and you will select "FIANCÉ(E) OR SPOUSE OF A U.S. CITIZEN (K)" and under that it will ask you to specify which you will select "FIANCÉE OF A U.S. CITIZEN (K1)". Under that it will ask for your Application/Receipt Number and there you will enter the receipt number from the approved I-129F petition.
Careful of what you "hear" about things at the Manila embassy.... the rumor mill about "blanket" embassy processes in the Philippines is completely out of control and usually overblown and often downright wrong. It is up to the Consular Officer that is conducting the interview whether to require the I-134, if they will accept a joint sponsor, etc. A second I-134 filled out on behalf of your fiancée by your father would be him being a "Joint Sponsor". He does not join on your I-134. All you can do is be prepared with the two I-134s to give to your fiancée to bring to the interview. We did not use two as my income exceeded the requirements.
They normally do not ask but they can ask anyone for it at anytime so I would be prepared and fill one out yourself as the primary sponsor (regardless of your income) and to have a joint sponsor (your father) fill one out as well and have your fiancée bring them to the interview.
Just have her show up on the morning session and request to do a walk-in. (Have her get there at the earliest time that they allow check-ins) Tell her to bring the original appointment notice for the canceled one and proof of the flight reservations on the 22nd and they should allow her to do the appointment on a walk-in basis.
We applied for and got my wife her SSN about 2 weeks after she arrived on her K-1 visa so as soon as she got her EAD she was able to start working. As others have said, apply for the EAD with form I-765 which is best to file concurrently (in the same envelope) with the I-485. There is a box you can check on that form to request a new SSN when it is approved. It hasn't been working as of late but it's worth a try. Once it's approved and if you don't get the SS Card within a week or so after the approval, make an appointment at your local SS Office to get her one after she receives the EAD Card.
Our officer verbally approved us and said that whatever they do in their system, there is a 24 hour delay until it shows up in our portal. Sure enough, a little more than 24 hours after we left our interview, we got our approval in the portal
