  1. Unless it is truly dire circumstances, I would NOT try to reschedule your embassy interview. You could face months of delay and uncertainty.
  2. Yep... this is the reason that others have been denied for this type of thing. As far as what to tell the Consular Officer and CBP? The truth, that she coming to visit you both and her new grandchild.
  3. The visa officer and CBP see this as her "working unpaid" in the US. I know it sounds crazy but it's an accurate representation of how they see it.
  4. You should cancel the payment on the one still out there with USPS
  5. That was who signed for our friend's package. It's in the right hands
  6. Yeah fingers crossed.... I think our friends here just got a negligent officer that did their interview. She started by saying she didn't have time to really review their case before the interview and their appointment was at 11:05am and they said she spent a good amount of time during the interview commenting on how hungry she was and how she needed to get lunch 😐
  7. Just keep in mind for WoM, make sure you are making inquiries via Ask Emma, Service Requests, and Congressional Inquiries and keeping evidence of them to add as "Exhibits" in your WoM filing with the court to show that you have been trying every method available to you to get action taken on your case
  8. We helped a friend file a couple months ago and when we sent it to the physical address via FedEx, we forgot the Suite 400 in the address. It was delivered on time with no issue and he got his receipt number via text message the day after it was delivered
  9. Our friends just hit 78 days.... I don't understand why it takes so long AFTER the interview to adjudicate
  10. You have to dial 011 63 then the number starting with 02
  11. Yeah it will most likely update tomorrow with the approval. Our officer told us when they approve it, there’s a 24 hour delay before it shows up in the portal
  12. As long as the marriage is legal in the jurisdiction in which it takes place, USCIS will accept it. The only caveat is if the marriage certificate is in a language other than English, you have to have it translated. (Not applicable obviously if you get married here in the US or in Australia )
  13. Just the first part, NOA1 (9/18/2023) to NOA2 (06/04/2024). The rest of it went astonishingly fast and we got the NVC stage / medical / interview / issuance of visa / CFO all done within 2 and a half months and she arrived in the US on 08/30/2024. We got lucky and were able to scoop up an interview appointment that I think someone canceled.
  14. The consulate part was actually pretty quick. We had the signed and sealed RoM back in our hands about 12 days after they received it. (You just have to make sure you send the packet with the evidence exactly as the instructions on their website states. And you can't use the instructions from any of the other consulates because in true Philippine fashion, they are different from consulate to consulate ) After that, the consulate sends it to the Dept. of Foreign Affairs in Manila to be registered with the Philippine Statistics Authority, after which we could order the official PSA certified copy. That took 8 months LOL While waiting on that, we could use the copy from the consulate to change her passport ONLY at that consulate. Once we got the PSA copy, we could make an appointment at any consulate or the embassy in Washington.
  15. We had to do this with the Civil Division of the Philippine Consulate and then wait to get the official "Report of Marriage" signed and sealed and returned to us before we could get an appointment to change Jaycel's passport at the consulate - Good that you pointed this out and I should have mentioned it in my post
  16. Our I-129F took 8.5 months.... Filed in mid September 2023 and got the approval early June 2024
  17. Or you can do what we did - When you file the AOS, file it in your wife's new married name. When you do that, if you file for an EAD in the married name, the EAD card will come in her married name and if you check the box saying you want a new SS card (AND if they have resumed the EBE program, which they were supposed to) SSA will send a new card in her married name. If they don't, then just make another appointment at that time with SSA to have it changed. If you do this for the I-485 and the EAD then the Green Card will also come in her married name. We did this and it was all very easy to change Jaycel's name to her married name. Next week we go to the Philippine consulate to change her Philippine passport to her married name
