  1. Almost done with the hardest part! I just wish Denver field office wasn't one of the slowest in the country We found some fellow Denver AOS filers on Reddit that are still waiting also and it looks like for this FO the average wait time between filing and interview is 9-12 months so we have a while to go now. We're hoping that with interviews being the norm now, they can get into a rhythm and streamline that a little. Someone that filed in Sept. 2024 just got their interview notice a couple weeks ago. They are 2 months prior to our file date so hopefully we'll get a notice in the next 4-6 weeks 🤞
  2. Also remember that this past Monday was a holiday and lots of employees across the country plan vacations for the whole week or large part of a holiday week because they get a day that they don't have to use a vacation day. Some also use a few days before the weekend. I noticed less movement across November filers for the week and a cursory look back on the week for other months shows the same. In my company of roughly 100K employees, the weeks on either side of a holiday Monday results in a reduction of active workers by anywhere from 15%-28%. (I happen to know because I'm a manager and we have to track staffing levels to make sure we are in compliance with FCC regulations)
  3. Today's stats: May 30, 2025 23:15 MDT November 2024 Filed I-485 Stats • Approved: 7,251 (+131) • Denied: 1111 • FingerprintScheduled: 87 • InterviewCancelled: 294 • InterviewScheduled: 10,755 (-13) • Processing: 21,375 (-131) • Received: 601 • Rejected: 103 • RFE: 444 • Terminated: 177 • Withdrawal: 31 • Others: 38
  4. In reading reports of interviews on some other sites, I do see that some report that their status changes back to “Case is being actively reviewed” if they received an RFE at the interview and they send in the requested evidence and some report it changes to that status if the review after the interview takes a while. (One example was someone who got interviewed and it took almost 4 weeks to get the approval)
  5. Yes that looks like it's an embassy specific requirement. It's not in the DoS reciprocity requirements which is what USCIS goes by
  6. Good catch! I just went by the State Department's Reciprocity guide. Looks like the embassy has additional rules. Then yes get it apostilled for sure
  7. So the requirements for the birth certificate I posted before are from the embassy's supplemental page on the Department of State website for immigrant visa interview requirements and there is nothing on there that I see that says it needs to be apostilled for the interview
  8. Where is the interview going to happen and what country issued the birth certificate?

  10. When was this I-130 filed? I will defer to the members more experienced with LPRs filing for their children to chime in here because I do not want to give you bad advice.
  11. What is the relationship of you to the petitioner? Is the petitioner a LPR or citizen? No I-485 filed concurrently?
  12. As I read the instructions, this is the correct interpretation. You would type it out in word and then upload the file in PDF format as the instructions for the Online I-130 state. You can export it directly to a PDF file format right from word so you don't have to print and then scan.
  13. This is good... we keep a digital copy on our phones but for the trip we actually took a copy with us. Jaycel's passport still has her maiden name too.... Waiting on the DFA to transmit our ROM details to the PSA. The San Francisco consulate screwed up. See my update below.... 🤣
  14. Should be fine... EAD is a "Real ID" so you can use that for TSA at the airport. Jaycel and I did a flight from CO to FL and that's what she used. There were zero issues. She also brought her passport with her and a copy of the receipt notice for the I-485 to show she has an application pending. Never needed it, but we wanted to have it just in case she was questioned.
  15. There is no requirement that you do, however if you don't, you are here in the country with no status and also no AOS pending. Having an AOS pending puts you into a quasi-legal status of "Authorized Stay" while the AOS is being processed
  16. Yeah the whole system is held together by duct tape and bailing wire I got that link from the DoS website for the Embassy in Ho Chi Minh City supplements by post website https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/HCM-Ho-Chi-Minh-City.html
  17. You can do what's called an "Errata Sheet" where you take a piece of paper and list the Part number, and the Item Number on the application that you made the mistake on, list the correct answer and give an explanation. Hand that to the ISO at the start of the interview. It will be ok... people make mistakes quite often which is why there is something that exists called an "Errata Sheet"
  18. Can you not get to the site? Is this the site you are going to? https://portal.ustraveldocs.com/SiteRegister?country=Vietnam&language=en_US
  19. The most important thing as others have said is to leave plenty of time if you have a connecting flight. When Jaycel entered, she had 4 hours between flights and it was just enough. Her flight was delayed and arrived at LAX the same time as 4 other international flights so, despite not even having to go to secondary, between the wait in line at passport control, the fairly quick inspection and admission process and getting to a completely different terminal, she only got to the gate with about 30 minutes to spare before they started boarding her flight to Denver. Wishing you smooth travels!
  20. Ok so as a K-1 applicant you will not get an invoice number for NVC... everything from this point forward will be through the embassy and whatever website Montreal uses to have you register and schedule an appointment. Below is a link to the Immigrant Visa procedures for Montreal - You will follow them because all the embassies treat K-1 Visa applicants as Immigrant Visa applicants https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/MTL-Montreal.html
