  1. Husband had the medical (4th July). Seemed to go ok, no issues. Confirmed today that test results from chest x-ray and blood test have come back (presumably all ok) have been sent to the embassy (after 7 working days). As he’s already had his interview, does any one have any experience on how long we can expect to wait to hear from the embassy with a decision?
  2. Thank you for your advice
  3. If the visa is denied following the medical, am I right in thinking that would wipe out all chances of using the VWP?
  4. There was a lot of conflicting information about whether he could or not so thought we’d go down the “safe” route and get a visa. Now, wondering whether we should have taken our chances.
  5. My husband attended his b2 visa interview yesterday and was referred for a medical due to his DUI conviction in 2021. My husband is fit and well. He works in construction and therefore attends yearly medicals and undergoes regular drug and alcohol tests due to operating heavy machinery (I’m hoping this will go in his favour). He is not abstinent from alcohol and still has a few beers at the weekend, nothing excessive. What are people’s experiences with the medical and likelihood of being approved for a tourist visa following the medical? Also, timescales? Information sheet says 1 weeks to 6 months! thank you
