    To get married I needed a valid ID which I didn’t have, passport expired long ago and consulate wouldn’t renew it unless you go back to Ukraine. 2 years ago I found out that they start extending expired passports without living the country so I applied and got mine few month ago. We did plan to get officially married, and go on the proper honeymoon which we never did, but it wasn’t a priority at all, after living together for 20 years you kind of forget about the fact that it’s not official.

    I’ve been living here for 20 years and unofficially married for 16 years, we did have a wedding but never registered with a state of IL due to luck of unexpired documents on my side, my civil wife is US citizen for 20 years. We have 4 kids all born here and my name is on all birth certificates. Will I qualify for this new law?
