  1. Hello everyone, my situation is that I got my green card on October 8, 2020, and I plan to apply for citizenship on July 10, 2025. Between October 8, 2020 and June 2024, I lived in the United States almost all the time, so I have already far met the 30-month requirement during this period ; however, in the last year of the 5th year , after June 8, 2024, I lived in China for 5 consecutive months for one trip ; then I came back to the U.S to stay two months from November, and now I want to go back to China again for another 5 month’s trip ; that is, I will in China for nearly 10 months during the last 12 month , although each trip was less than 6 months, will I still be eligible for naturalization in July this year ? Shortly , I meet “ 5 years green card + 30 month total in U.S + each trip is less than 6 month “ , but “ the last 2 trips , total 10 month in China in the the last 12 month” might be a problem Thank you so much. really appreciate
  2. Dear friends I have lived in the same house with my U.S citizen spouse for 4 years as well,( 2 years boyfriend + 2 years husband), so we just married 2 years. And My green card is 4 years too. I saw this : USCIS considers an applicant to “live in marital union” with his or her citizen spouse if the applicant and the citizen actually reside together. so can I file my citizenship now ? Because although I didn’t married him for 3 years so far , but we did reside together for 3 years. thank you
  3. I don’t have any single trip longer than 6 months ; and I did file taxes each year.
  4. My green card started on October 8, 2020, and I can submit my citizenship application on July 8, 2025. As of July 8, I have already lived in United Stated for 30 months. However, because I traveled a lot in 2014, I did not meet the requirement of living in United stated for 6 months in the last year by July 8. That is, as of July 8, I have only lived for 4 months. I believe that by the day of the interview, I will have lived in enough for 6 months. So my question is, can I still submit my application on July 8? Or do I have to wait until September 8? Thank you so much I am sorry , it is 2024
  5. Thank you. Can I file it physically in the Us and then go to travel ?
  6. Hello, I am planning to file N-400 online. I will be qualified to file it at July 15 ,2025. That is the time I will be completed the 5-year residence requirement including 30 months continuous residence. However, since I will be traveling I outside of the county from April 2025. Which means I will be in china in July,2025. Do I must come back to United State land to file it at July,2025? Should I be physically in United States when I file it ? or Can I E- file it on-line even when I am in china and come back for interview ? thank you so much.
  7. Hello, I am planning to file N-400 online. I almost completed the 5-year residence requirement including 30 months continuous residence. I have lived in my current home in Seattle for 4.5 years now. In April 2025 I will go back to my home country for a 3 month vacation and came back to start to filling the paper in July when I am qualified. Since I will be exactly outside of the country 90 days before filling , do that means I won’t be qualified for the 90 days rule. Does this 90 days in United State mean the time that immediately/ exactly before filling date ? thank you.
  8. Thank you for your reply. I am not worrying about my continuous residence. What I am worried about is I might don’t meet the 3 month residency before filing the application because I will be in China for that 5 month before I filing the applications.
  9. Do I need to Physically present in the U.S. for 3 month from April 2025- June,2025,if I want to file my application at July,2025?
  10. Thank you.So I do need to come back at April,2025 if I want to file the application at July, right?
  11. my question is about the 3 month residecy . thank you
  12. Dear friends I will be eligible to apply for U.S citizenship in July 2025 (5 years to apply on my own). I have been living in Seattle, Washington since 2021. However, I will reside in China for five consecutive months from February to July 2025, while still maintaining my address in Seattle. I meet all the requirements except for this one: the 3-month residency requirement. My confusion is as follows: Since I plan to apply for citizenship in July 2025, does the 3-month residency mean that I must to reside back in Seattle physically in June, May, and April 2025? Or rather, because I have been living in Seattle since 2021, even if I am not in Seattle from February 2025 to June 2025, I still meet the 3-month residency requirement. So my question is the 3-month residency should be right before the moment I filling the application paperwork? Thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate it. so it helps me to decied that : (1) Should I come back at april,2025 to meet the 3 month residency so I can apply the citizenship at July,2025 or (2) I can stay in china all the way until June,2025 and come back to seattle and still be eligible to fill the applicaton at July,2025 Thank you again.
  13. I see. Thank you so much. So I have to wait I married with my spouse for 3 years. Appreciate it.
  14. so I am confused now , because I reside together more than 3 years , but I only married for 2 years. I don’t know am I eligible or not. If I try to apply being citizen anyway and if I get rejected, will it affect to apply next time. Thank you
  15. This is what I found out : USCIS considers an applicant to “live in marital union” with his or her citizen spouse if the applicant and the citizen actually reside together.
