Hello all! New user here. Things have been smooth sailing so far up to this point. We completed the DS-160, and have all forms prepped, and her medical appointment is booked in a few days. The earliest date for an interview in Montreal however, was August 29th, which we just booked. Our I129F approval expires on August 15th, though. From what I’ve read online, we can request an extension on this if we can prove we are still moving forward with this. Is this something we have to do manually, or is this automatically done when they see we have an appointment already booked but it’s expiring? I tried reaching out to the consulate for assistance to no avail. The consulate contact page says “for questions regarding visa applications, please contact Canada.Visas@gdit-gss.com“, yet when I reached out to them, they said they only help with scheduling interviews, and to direct my email to the consulate (yet there is no other email listed for the consulate that I can find). Getting a little anxious even though it’s still 2 months out. Do we need to take some sort of action now, and if so, is anybody able to assist with who we should be contacting? Or can we just print out a dated and signed letter requesting an extension to bring to the interview?
