  1. Glad that you have had your visa approved and received it now! I can imagine that the cake was very nice as well haha I did want to get a drink and some cake from District Coffee after my interview but I had to get to London St Pancras for the train back so I had to get something from the station instead.
  2. @wallflowers have you had your interview yet?
  3. Hi all, Just wondering which Supermarkets people prefer to shop at? My fiancee prefers Walmart due to her being able to do a weekly shop for less money whereas I prefer Safeway because I feel like they have better quality products on some things.. We both like Costco as well. She also likes Trader Joes (I haven't been to one yet).
  4. Me and my fiancee watch this show and it is very interesting in terms of some the people they have on it
  5. My fiancée said mobile phones are expensive in the USA from her experience so she only tries to change phone every 4-6 years. I definitely think you should consolidate your accounts. Makes things more manageable for yourself
  6. Usually when there is an overwhelming consensus of opinion on something it is a pretty good idea to listen to what is being said. I don’t think you are considering everything that has been said at all. I think you are hurt by what has happened and I completely understand that but I would strongly encourage you to think about this again.
  7. Was there not a possibility of booking your date of travel to the USA slightly later than the date you have originally booked to make sure you have everything sorted before you went? As most people I have seen on here have travelled at least a month after their interview.
  8. Just an update on this. I have sorted this now. I have enough items I need to provide proof of vaccination for this so I have booked the vaccination for in 2 and a half weeks.
  9. Surely it isn’t going hurt to pay 50p every 3 months? That’s £2 a year!
  10. I understand that extra evidence is extra evidence but a receipt to show purchase of a ring isn’t really relevant to the case as other members have said that they are more interested in proof of you both meeting in person with evidence such pictures of you together and proof of travel. This should have been looked into before you sent the paperwork off but I do hope that this doesn’t cause an issue for your case and wish you both the best of luck with it.
  11. I’m not sure whether this will be ok but I’m not sure why you thought the ring receipt was necessary to include as evidence? An idea of what you need to provide in terms of evidence is on this link - https://www.uscis.gov/i-129f.
  12. Personally I would have at least one UK bank account open for the foreseeable just in case after the others have been closed but whatever works best for you and what you are most comfortable with.
  13. I agree with you that it is definitely not easy. I am currently trying to sort out things and there is definitely a lot to sort out. Of course everyone is different as well as some people may have longer notice periods with work and some might have more assets than others which they need to sell such as a house and car.
  14. Of course I can get one in the USA as well but my query was more specific to the UK side of things
  15. Hi all, My workplace is offering free Flu vaccines for employees which I am interested in having. I didn't have the Flu vaccine when I had my medical which was near the end of June as it wasn't Flu season. I had my K1 visa approved last month but am not travelling over to the USA until December. I wanted to know if anyone has had a Flu vaccination through their employer and whether when it came to the AOS that the Flu vaccine from employer was accepted at all? I did ask my company if they can provide proof of vaccination but all they said was I could talk to the nurse about what vaccine I have had which didn't really answer my query. I imagine this answer might depend on when the AOS is filed and if during Flu season in the USA (not too sure on this so any advice would be greatly appreciated!). Hope you can help!
  16. I agree with consolidating accounts and just having 1 UK bank account.
  17. It's not 90 days - it's usually 6 months as a standard so around 180 days.
  18. Apologies but I think I have mentioned earlier in this post what the results of my discussion were with my mobile phone network provider?
  19. I’m not sure you actually need a contract for this as when I spoke to my mobile network provider they said I didn’t need one and that I can just top up credit online or via the app as and when I need it.
  20. Yeah I did check the K1 Visa in my passport since I last posted and I have the same annotation on it so would be good to see how this went as well.
  21. I would speak to your mobile phone network provider about it if you haven't done so already. I didn't have any experience or much knowledge about it but after I rang mine and discussed it with them I came away feeling a lot more knowledgeable and confident about the whole process. Some bits might be slightly different depending on the mobile phone network provider and the phone
  22. And the transfer fee with the bank might be higher than if you do it through another party/provider
  23. You can transfer money from a UK bank account to a USA bank account but there can be a transfer fee for doing so depending on which bank you are with
  24. Brilliant - thank you for letting me know Edward 🙂
  25. That is pretty good in terms of delivery date after the SSA appointment. Does it require a signature on delivery or will it just be posted in the mailbox?
