  1. I can try - I travel in about 5 weeks. I have an Experian account where I get monthly emails with my credit score on it as well. Not sure how much that helps?
  2. I did think that all those things would be required but I didn't know if there was anything else that might have been needed that was all but thank you for confirming. I think the proof of address will definitely be the hardest to prove.
  3. She does have a credit card and to my knowledge her credit score is good
  4. Have you had an update on this @Melancholic Mage?
  5. Unfortunately I don't - I haven't had a credit card before

    P45 Query

I'm not saying they are. I'm saying in the event or off chance if it is required
  7. Hi all, I handed in my notice at work on Friday (my notice period is 4 weeks) and I have spoken to HR regarding my P45. They have said it will be posted to me 2-4 weeks (I did ask if they could email it to me but they said it was post only) after my last working day but I am travelling to the USA just over a week after my last working day. I did ask them if it was possible for my P45 to be sent to an alternative address (due to personal/family reasons) and they said I can as long as I change it on the system 2 weeks before my last working day with the company which is fine as I would like it to go to my grandparents address and they will then take a pic of it but also post it to me in the USA. My concern is though whether in the USA whether tax authorities, employers, etc will query the different address on the P45 (if required) as it wouldn't be the address I was living at in the UK? Would I need to provide supporting evidence such as emails from work discussing them confirming I could change the address on the P45? T Has anybody had a similar experience or any advice regarding this at all? Hope you can help.
  8. Hi all, Just wondering if there is anything else I should provide or prepare when it comes to obtaining a credit card? I am travelling to the USA next month and will be looking to hopefully obtain my SSN about 2 weeks after travelling but keen to provide as much information as I can to obtain a credit card as I have read that UK credit score ratings doesn't carry over to USA credit score ratings (not sure how accurate that is though)? Also which credit cards would you recommend? Hope you can help.
  9. Hi all, Just wondering if there is anything else I should provide or prepare when it comes to opening a US bank account? I am travelling to the USA next month and will be looking to hopefully obtain my SSN about 2 weeks after travelling but keen to provide as much information to the bank as I can. Also which banks would you recommend banking with? Hope you can help.
  10. I actually enquired with HR at my workplace about what their process as a result of this as I will be handing in my notice this week and they said to me that they post the P45 out and that I would receive it 2-4 weeks later. I did say to them that I would be moving to another country and they said I could amend the address on the HR system so it gets posted to a relative on my behalf who can then in turn post the P45 to me or take pics of it and send over to me.
  11. I would say whichever one is easiest for you to organise your documents
  12. I wasn't asked for any photos when I had my interview but I had just a few photos just in case though. There is a list of what you need for the interview on this link - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/nonimmigrant-visa-for-a-fiance-k-1.html#6.
  13. 6 months
  14. I will be interested to hear how you get on with the HMRC issue though.
  15. It's understandable for you to still be settling in. Just takes a bit of time that's all.
  16. Fair enough. Hopefully you manage to get this sorted out soon.
  17. Can you not submit a P85 without the P45 and provide a reason why?
  18. I wouldn't wait around tbh. If I were you I would contact HMRC ASAP.
  19. Ahh yeah Carrie Underwood is good. Zac Brown Band and Sam Hunt are good. My fiancees first country music concert was Jason Aldean. Although I haven't listened to any of his music yet.

  21. I think embassies extend petitions in 4 month increments - from what I know I think it used to be a year but that was during Covid. You can certainly contact the embassy though and ask them. Even if your petition does expire you can revalidate it by bringing a signed letter/statement from each of you confirming that you still plan to marry and will get married within 90 days of entering the USA. My interview was just over a month after my medical and I brought a signed letter from me and my fiancée along to the visa interview and they were ok with that. I would say try and book your medical before your petition expires if you can though as when I went for my medical they did ask me if I had booked my interview yet. I had booked mine already before my medical though.
  22. I would just get the Covid vaccine as like @OldUser said I can't imagine the requirement being changed.
  23. Me and my fiancee are having a courthouse wedding first and then another one for family and friends to attend. I think quite a few people do it this way.
  24. I have had some similar concerns regarding grades before as I don’t have a degree and I do know on some job adverts it can be listed as a requirement but my fiancée said not to take too much notice of that as they look at your work experience and skills as well.
  25. Are you saying you would go back to the UK?
