    Hi all, Just wondering if anybody has to applied and paid for the Advanced Parole option at all? And if so how long did it take for it to be approved/processed? As this is something I am looking at doing at the moment. Hope you can help!

    Hi, Thank you for getting back to me and letting me know. Just wanted to ask as I will be handing my notice in at work in the next 5-7 weeks and I wasn’t aware of getting tax back until another member on the forum mentioned it to me yesterday.

    @j26 did you manage to cancel the return journey? Did you have to pay any amendment or cancellation fees and did you get a refund?

    Do you know if they refund you all the tax you have paid in the tax year or a % of what you have paid in tax for this tax year? Apologies - I did some reading on this yesterday but I haven't looked at it all in depth yet.

    @WoodlandsFamily did you manage to look into or sort out the Covid vaccine booster for your children who are under 12?

    No worries - free is always preferable of course haha I think I might have one of those annotations on my K1 visa. I will have to check but its good to have found out what the different annotations mean as well.

    Boots do private Covid vaccination for just under £100 if you are looking for a Covid vaccine booster before you travel. If not then I imagine you would get one in the USA.

    Hi, Just to give an update on this. I spoke to my network provider earlier and they said I could change to a pay as you go plan and keep my phone number but that I need to give them 30 days notice to change me from my contract to pay as you go. They said I have an option in my contract where I don’t need to pay an extra fee. Also they said I just top up £10 of credit as and when online or on the app, I don’t need a new SIM card and that I could dual SIM with a US phone number as well. I just need to call or text every 6 months just to make sure I keep active on their network but it was a very helpful call.

    No worries! I can imagine that there is a lot to do and sort out. When are you travelling over to the USA?

    Thank you - I think I am going to go into a store for my network provider this weekend and speak to somebody about it and see if they can change me to a pay as you go plan

    No worries! I forgot to say that I stored my bag there when I had my visa interview. Do you have your visa interview soon?

    Wouldn't your fiancee have received it? As they were the petitioner? My fiancee is the one who received the NOA2 back as she was the petitioner for us and she let me know that she had received it.

    Hi, I had my visa interview last month and the name of the cafe near the embassy is District Coffee. They open at 07:30 and it is £10 to store a bag and £5 to store a laptop. Hope that this helps!

    Definitely understand what you are saying regarding getting time of at Christmas. I am hoping me and my fiancee can get mine sorted 2 weeks after travelling to the USA.

    I was told during my interview that my visa was approved but I think it took a day for it to say Approved and then another day for it to say Issued. I think everything should be ok though. Keep checking the CEAC tracker, however, I'm not sure if it will be updated over the weekend so best to check early next week.
