  1. Hello, My wife EAD was approved in about 40 days. She received her EAD about 1 week after approval and her SS card (if you had asked for one) 2 days after that.
  2. Sent out my RFE reply back yesterday via priority mail express so hopefully the case will continue processing.
  3. It’s the opposite for me. If it takes 2 weeks to show up i’m lucky. Sometimes up to three weeks for some items for me lol.
  4. Since I live out in the middle of the ocean sometimes stuff takes longer to come in go (here's looking at you Amazon lol) so I didn't want to chance it if it got super late.
  5. I stressed a little too when I was sending in the wife's paperwork that's why I paid for priority mail express. Sadly I still had to pay for it twice and the second time it didn't get there in the time that I paid for it 🤣
  6. Thank you so much for the info and help. 💓
  7. Thank you for the reply. She wasn't working for a few years while in Philippines so there's no income to report. I filed married jointly so hopefully that is ok. For next year would I have to change anything resident or non resident when she gets (hopefully by end of this year) her green card?
  8. Hello all, I am trying to do my taxes this year. I am currently married to my wife who came on a K1 visa. We got married on Oct 11 2024 and at the current time of this writing we are awaiting her I-485 case to be approved. I usually use turbotax to do my taxes but this year I need some help. My wife received her EAD card on Feb 26 2025 and her SS card on Feb 28 2025. She has not worked since arriving in the USA and she was unemployed for a few years prior to her arrival here to USA (she live in Philippines). I am filing jointly and there's a question asking: "is a nonresident alien or dual-status alien spouse". I am unsure if I should check the box for the question or not. Any help would be much appreciated thank you.
  9. Trying to do my taxes now and I am filing married jointly but with turbotax one of the questions is if my wife is a nonresident alien or dual-status alien spouse. It's a checkbox. Do I check it or not since we filed for her greencard but she doesn't have one yet. Not sure the correct answer.
  10. My wife SS card should be arriving later today. 😊 Hopefully everything will be all set so me and her can go visit my family on the East Coast later this year. 💓
  11. Wife's EAD card arrived today! Now hopefully the SS card soon. 😊
  12. I will probably wait to sent the 2024 then. I still have time. (May22) My wife EAD card is in state right now according to the tracking (since I live on another island the main USPS hub is on Oahu) so card should come tomorrow and SS card hopefully soon after. 😊
  13. I only send the w-2 of the last 3 years so thats probably why they want a transcript.
  14. My RFE for now they only want: The petitioning sponsor, ME, on form I-864 Affidavit of Support, must submit a complete Federal income tax return submitted to IRS for the most recent tax year. If he submits a transcript it must be a "Tax Return Transcript" from the IRS."
  15. I use turbotax so in a sense e-filing. I think it would be better if my return was approved not accepted. Hate to send to USCIS then to find out something is wrong.
  16. When they accepted my filings for my wife I have the tracking that says it was delivered on 1/11 but my notices from USCIS says they received it on 1/10 lol
  17. When looking at the document online on MyUSCIS since I haven't received it in the mail yet they need to receive my response by May 22 so I have a some time to do everything. The SS card should be here by the end of this week or sometime next week. Should I wait though even if I file this years taxes I should wait till they at least accept them right? Be kinda weird if I sent them to USCIS and come to find out IRS says I filed wrong or something else went wrong.
  18. Well I changed my filing status to married filing jointly and it was changed just before the end of last year so I went to go do my taxes and well it's asking me for my wife SS number too and we haven't received it yet lol. But it should be showing up soon.
  19. Today I got my wife tracking number from USPS Informed delivery for her EAD card. 😊 But I also got a notice from USCIS for a RFE on her I-485. They are asking for a complete federal income tax return for the most recent year. I haven't finished this year tax return yet so would last years be ok or should I wait to finish this year one?
  20. Good to know lol. How long did it take for you to go from approval to card produced? Just trying to estimate how long till it shows up.
  21. Hello everyone. Hope everyone having a good weekend. 😊 Another quick update: My wife I-765 case has now gone to card produced on February 22 2025. 🥰. Unfortunately MyUSCIS currently shows the tracking for it as unavailable so maybe the card will be coming soon and the SS card soon after?
  22. Wishing everything goes well and quickly for you guys. 😊
  23. My wife didn’t even get a notification that they received her cases till like 3 weeks later (3 business weeks since they no count weekends and federal holidays) and the letters with her case numbers showed up a little bit later. Every lockbox is different so just gotta hold out.
  24. @agsw I had 2 IOE cases. One for her I-485 and one for her I-765. It also shows up as a concurrent filing for them on MyUSCIS. My wife also received around the same number of emails. My wife I-765 approval was so quick due to us living in Hawaii and I would assume they just do mostly Hawaii so they have a lower case load compared to some of the other service centers.
  25. I did put the required colored paper on top of my refiling as requested but unfortunately I can't say if you can put the same paperwork with the scan bars on the bottom because when USCIS sent back my paperwork the big enveloped was heavily damaged and most of my paperwork had a good amount of water damage to it so I had to reprint and refill out everything. Luckily they put the returned checks and the required photos back inside the small zip-lock back that I sent them in. They only papers that I did sent back was the color paper as required and the NOA's that were sent with it damaged as they were. Personally for me. I just redid everything I even used the new forms just to be sure. But also I believe they did ask me to use the news ones too in my refiling so I had to reprint everything anyhow. But after that everything went smooth from there. 😊 Just to let everyone know though I'm sure I stated it mine was sent back though due to actually not sending the first page of the I-485 not because I filed out the forms wrong. I was slightly rushing and did overthink filling out all the forms hence why I probably forgot to put the first page in my first filing lol.
