  1. Sorry for dragging this on for so long guys. But I read somewhere that you can also subtract the time after your priority date became current from the age. In that case it would be 4.7 months. Is this true? My age froze on March 1st 2024 at 26 yrs 2 months 18 days. My CSPA age based off the general calculations was 21 years 3 months 5 days. If it is true that you can subtract time after visa priority date became current in final action dates, I think I would be under 21. (if this is completely wrong please let me know, lol)
  2. Question. If I dont attend the interview (its already registered) would my mom be able to inquire about the CSPA age out for me without me being there and schedule another interview if it turned out to be ok (I know it wont, i def aged out) but just to make my mom feel more secure in my decision of not attending
  3. I'm not sure. I was going through all of our papers and I saw that the date my grandma filed the i130 by mail was actually 04/14/2015. I'm not sure if there were any mistakes or it didnt go through or something, because then I was looking at the actual i130 paperwork and it was all dated 07/17/2015. My priority date on Notice of Action however is 11/10/2015.
  4. I'm not sure. I'm more worried about when I try to come back to visit america, if the immigrant visa denial will give me a hard time at the US land border.
  5. exactly. my family refuses to believe i have aged out and wants me to attend the interview anyway.
  6. I'm a canadian derivative child of a F2B visa. Ive computed my cspa age Per DOS Cspa guidelines, and it appears Ive aged out. Everyone is saying I should attend the interview regardless, but I'd rather not have false hope and focus on a new plan for my future. People are also saying if my name isnt "greyed out" in the ceac portal, that I havent aged out but I've also read many times where there names are still on the portal, are called to interview & are aged out based on calculations done at the interview. Date of birth: 12/13/1997 Priority date: 11/10/2015 Approval date: 10/22/2020 Visa became current: 03/01/2024 Age when visa became available: 26 years, 2 months 18 days Cspa age: 21 years, 3 months 5 days. I dont know if they count the date the I130 was filed for anything, as i was just listed as my mothers child, but the i130 was filed 07/17/2015. Any comments regarding this could and will help. If its better for me to not attend the interview, please tell me because I do not want to spend money on the medical exam coming up in just a few days.
  7. as of today, what are the patterns youve recognized for who gets issued the ds5535?
  8. ok. i wasnt sure if they would want to update our travel history in our ds260 at our interview since it hasnt been updated since 2021
  9. it isnt asked on the interview checklist, but i was curious if my mom and i should bring our i94 to our interview, seeing as we spend most winters in america.
  10. would it be a good idea to mention that we now have a home in america? we have our petitioner and a few joint sponsors, but after all of these years we decided to buy a house in america. we only spend the winter there (and ofcourse we will bring i94 to prove that) just wondering if its worth bringing up, if the interviewer asks what we plan on doing in america once we get there.
  11. it is a violent user name, (i thought it was goth and egdy at that age) but i seriously wouldnt have given it in my ds260 if i thought the content on that account would raise concerns (I usually would just post silly tweets) and tbh i wouldve been paranoid if i wouldnt have given it too. i cannot win
  12. I have an interview at the montreal embassy for a family based visa in july. What class visas are ds5535 usually given to? Im getting nervous because I used to use a edgy name on social media and now im paranoid itll be the reason i get served a DS5535 =_=
  13. I'm a canadian woman derivative in a family based green card application. In 2020 I had to give my social media's, and being as honest as possible I listed my twitter and instagram usernames which are definitely considered "edgy". i would've been paranoid if i wouldn't have listed them either. Now that Ive got my interview I'm paranoid that it will be scrutinized when I am in fact not a criminal and have never been associated with anything criminal. Would this username be seen as grounds for visa denial?
  14. Hello! I was born in Canada. My grandmother is a green card holder in america and filed for my mother's petition back in 2014-2015 (unmarried adult) which put my mom in the F2B category. She filed my application alongside hers, as i was underage. (applicant of a child under 21) who will be immigrating with main applicant. That being said, when we applied I was under the age of 21. Now, 9 years later we finally have our interview. I am 26 years old and was wondering if I will be aged out at the interview or if they will use the CPSA age. (i've figured out my cspa age before and it said i was ok but i'm not sure if the montreal embassy evencares) I'm writing this fast because I'm very nervous but alsoexcited. If you have any info that could help that would begreat.
