I am processing IVP from Canada, Montreal. My priority date is April 28, 2022; my DQ was May 30, 2023, and my interview is scheduled for October 29, 2024. However, I came to the USA on H1B on 30th August 2024 and working as a tenure-track Assistant professor. I am planning to apply for Adjustment of Status (I 485). Can you please let me know if there are any additional steps I need to take before applying for AOS? 1. I want to know if I submitted my I 485 and it is still in the process and by this time my interview date is passed is there any consequence in that situation? 2. If I can not attend the interview on the scheduled date (29th October 2024), can I apply for I 485 after the interview passes? Thank you so much.

Hello good people, Good morning. My DQ was May 30, 2023, and got the IL yesterday, category EB2. I need some clarification and if anyone could help that would be helpful. 1. I submitted my documents from Canada around Early April 2023 along with my Bangladesh police clearance (issue date was February 2023) and Canada Police clearance (issue date was early April). and DQ was May 30, 2023. 2. I travel back home to Bangladesh on December 04, 2023, and stay there until August 29, 2024. 3. On August 30, 2024, I just landed USA on an H1B visa as an assistant professor (tenure track) and got the IL and interview scheduled on October 29, 2024. I have some queries related to Police clearance and medical. 1. I got my Bangladesh police clearance certificate very recently July 2024. (so I believe it should work) 2. I was in Canada almost 8 months after my police certificate was issued (issued on April 2023 and left Canada in December 2023), do I need a police certificate again? if so, can I get a police certificate by applying online from the USA? 3. Do I need a USA police certificate? I just landed yesterday and my appointment will be in 2 months from now. About Medical 1. Can I book a medical appointment just one/two days before the interview? I will be traveling from the USA and I have a job here so want to make my stay in Canada as short as possible. Or what is the ideal time to make a medical appointment? Can we choose the consulate to pick up our passports? Is it okay to let the visa officer know that we need to travel back to the USA and is there any way to expedite the visa stamping process? I need some information regarding medical and PCC 1. If I will get IL near future then I need to do medical, my query is, can I do medical from the US or I need to do it from Canada only? 2. How long does the police clearance remain valid? is it 2 years or 1 year? if it is expired then should we bring a new PCC on the day of the interview? Thank you so much
