  1. Hi there! I came across your review post and was wondering if you could help me out as I'm in a similar situation as you were. My sponsor is a USC who just started grad school this fall but was working full time before that. Sponsor is on a full scholarship and monthly stipend. Also has a new address.

We have already been DQ(before grad school) and waiting for IL. The stipend is still above the poverty guidelines limit but we're wondering if the grad school situation will be an issue during the interview process? What about the address? Do we need a joint sponsor at this stage?

  2. Any May 2024 DQs here? Any estimates of IL dates?
  3. @Dashinka @pushbrk @powpow13 If my wife(beneficiary) had a change in her employment status in Canada - do we have to update that too before interview?
  4. @Dashinka thanks. How can my wife update the living situation? Should she just inform them during the interview? Or does she have to submit an updated I-864EZ, lease agreement, and enrollment/scholarship/stipend confirmation before attending the interview?
  5. I'm a USC and was working full-time when we got DQ (May 2024). My wife (applicant) and I are still waiting for our IL (Montreal) and I've just started my grad school and also no longer employed. I'm on a full scholarship and stipend that is above the USCIS poverty guidelines. My permanent address has also changed to another state where my school is at. Will these things be an issue during my wife's IR1 interview in Montreal? Do we have to update our I-864EZ? Thanks!
  6. thanks @pushbrk. Can I also sponsor my wife as a grad student? I've gotten full tuition scholarship and stipend (that is above the poverty threshold) and will be a grad student starting from August and also during her interview. Do I need to upload additional documents on the NVC website?
  7. I have a unique situation with my IR1 application. I’m a USC petitioner. When we filled out I130, I was living and working in the US but when I filled out the I864 for my wife (beneficiary) I was staying and working in Canada with my wife. My wife got DQ’ed in April and now she is waiting to get the interview date, while I have again moved back to the US permanently. Will this come up as an issue during her interview in Montreal?
