  1. This is a good perspective. Realistically there's no rush, waiting out the van is the best path forward for us it seems.
  2. It does seem that way. I suspected as much. Oh well, worse places to be than Canada I suppose.
  3. Of course. It would be better to speak with them, but this forum is a good proxy in the meantime.
  4. They wouldn't be getting involved until I give the green light so I haven't spoken yet with them. It seems like it would be more trouble than it's worth, though.
  5. I know. I'm asking whether I would be able to sponsor her after getting the green card. I obviously don't want to bother with the green card only to find out that I am unable to move to the USA with my wife.
  6. Hello, I have asked this question about a year ago with limited success (thank you to the person who replied, it was helpful). I figured I'd ask again as I'm searching for additional information. The situation is: Me, a Canadian citizen and my wife, a Mexican but Canadian PR holder. We're living in Canada at the moment, and my company is willing to sponsor me for a green card. However, she has nine years left out of a ten year ban from the USA. My question is whether or not it would be even worth it for me to pursue the green card with this in mind, as I obviously wouldn't leave for the United States without her. Is the ten year ban so absolute that I would not be able to extend my green card to her, or are there avenues that can allow that to be fixed?
  7. So here's the situation. I am a Canadian, my wife is Mexican. She is with me in Canada under PR. I am able to get a green card through work without too many issues, however, my wife had previously overstayed for over one year in the US and as such is facing her ten year ban. We have a kid on the way. I would love to get out of Canada, but I see no point in pursuing a green card unless I can extend it to my wife and child. Considering the ban my wife is facing, I'm not sure whether or not this is even feasible and I was hoping to get some advice on how to proceed, if at all. Thank you all in advance.
