Happy update for us! We received two updates this month - August 12th (one day after an email inquiry) August 15th (one day after congressional inquiry) I’m not sure if those were a coincidence or not, but August 15th we received the email requesting updated medical and passport! Our interview was February 13th, 2024. I do truly think they are trying to clear the backlog… but perhaps having my two young children involved in this process helped our case process faster? Overall we were in admin processing for almost exactly 6 months. Sending out so much love to everyone still waiting, this process is not for the faint of heart! Hopefully this just proves there is light at the end of the tunnel! I will post another update once everything is complete.

Question about “case created” dates. Our case was created (by NVC) on July 8th 2023. Will crossing a year mark on the case created date spark anything?

The automated reply just means they got it.. every time you send them an email, you will get that one right away! You will get another response in a few weeks 😅

I received the standard response to my email (which I sent on may 26th) today. The previous two emails I sent (and responses) never corresponded with a case update (in fact, we hadn’t had one since March 8th). It looks like they opened it about the same time I got the email today. Thankful it was at least opened, even if I triggered it..

I hope they merge it soon.. I’m sure it would help everyone involved! I thought I read the plan was for 2024

We haven’t had one since March 8th but that gives me hope maybe we will see one soon.

It’s so hard to know.. it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to be honest! I am curious if others get processed faster though, or if everyone who gets this form is waiting 6+ months.

At least that’s a bit of a relief.. I think it says they can ask for one if they see fit.. but knowing we may not have to repeat that step is pretty awesome!

Isn’t there a new rule out that medical appts after November 2023 don’t expire? I could have sworn my lawyer sent us that! I am so sorry you’re in the same boat. This process needs to be expedited immensely.

Have they updated your case at all on the visa tracker? It’s heartbreaking honestly!!

Hi all.. my husband received form DS-5535 and 221g after my two very young children got issued theirs in February 2024. We are still waiting without a single update to our case since March 8th(seems like these were the initial updates when they receive it). This whole process has been a rollercoaster and a half!! I have until July to cross with my children our timeline: IR1 category started this process June 2022 DQ’d September 2023 interview Feb 2024
