  1. I received an official I-130 approval letter so now i can submit DS-260 whenever im ready. But i have some concerns. 1. Passport Number I will have to get a new passport soon because I changed my surname, and want my GC with it. But it will be later time when I will be able to issue the new one. So, Is it okay to put my current passport number on DS-260 and submit so can do medicals? I am applying visa in tokyo, in order to make medical appointment, i have to submit DS-260 first. 2. Social Media I have provided all the social media i have used from the list. But then, they also ask me, do i wish to provide other websites or applications that are not listed. Would it be an issue if i say No? I have so many that i had deleted years ago and i cant even remember the platforms which makes it even harder for me to remember the usernames. 3. Occupation I am a part time worker at McDonald’s. I do not have any other occupation. I don’t go to college or have other jobs. Which one should I select? HOMEMAKER or OTHER and say “im a part time worker”?
  2. Hey. So, few days ago my I-130 got approved so now I started preparing for DS-260. I have went through DS-260 exampler and i have some questions. 1. Address History I have had the same address (address 1) for my entire life, never had move to a new house or lived in a dorm or whatsoever. However, when I was still attending college, I was going to school from my relatives place for a short time because it was much closer and easier for me to go (so I’d say I was just staying at their place…) Yet, I did not have the change of address procedure at city hall or any authority. So all my documentation such as my ID was still the same. However, because I needed student pass for the train, I had to update my address on my college’s student ID card. So only my college knows that I have lived in a different place. Do I still have to/should provide this (address 2) on DS-260? Or can I just answer NO to “have you lived anywhere other than this address since the age of sixteen?” 2. Phone Number (Myself) I have used the same phone number since i got my first phone, never had changed the number. But when I travel to the US, I bought one-month SIM card (T-Mobile) at the airport and had a temporary number that i could use within the US. Do i have to provide this phone number as well? 3. Phone Number 2 (Petitioner’s Information page.) My husband who is a U.S. Military, lived in japan and had Japanese phone number. But now (like right now) he’s going back to the US, and of course has his US phone number. Which one should I put? (Btw, on I-130, he put Japanese phone number, and did not provide his US phone number.) Thank you so much in advance for responding to my questions.
  3. Thank you very much! I’m relieved to hear that. i see… and do you also know how long should it be?
  4. Oh… i see. Well, thank you I guess:) but I did not mean to do so tho. i saw a comment saying that he/she wanted to know our back story. Do you think i should remove it then? Also i really don’t know how to use this im new to this app…
  5. Thank you so much for your answers! That’d really appreciated. Yes, sure thing:) first of all, my boyfriend is a US navy, stationed in japan and I myself is Japanese living in japan. So, long story short, we found out that we are having a baby back in March. Though I was attending to college, we both agreed to keep our baby. I dropped out school, and we decided to settle down together. Our baby is coming on September. So i need to get visa as soon as possible. Unfortunately, he has to go back to the states in like a week. And he will be stationed there for over a year. So It will be so hard for both of us if we cant get these things done now…. You know, in many ways… We had about two months to prepare but we wasted the first month working on K-1 visa. Only to find out that we couldn’t file because he was not inside the states. From the very beginning of April, we started working on CR1 visa which we are trying to get. But before the visa we had get married. Since my boyfriend is in the navy, he has to get his marriage affidavit from the navy which took forever than it usually does. Only if they did it soon, we could have gotten married two, three weeks ago. We would have had more time preparing for visa. Now that we finally have the affidavit with us, next Monday morning we will go to city hall and get the remaining stuff we need for i-130. Our original i-130 appointment was also on Monday. We were this close yo give up on the visa. But with a slight hope, i talked to the embassy all day the other day and they allowed us to walk in on Wednesday. So yeah, hopefully, we will make this whole process done.
  6. Hello. My boyfriend and I are getting married in a couple days and our I-130 interview is coming in two days after our marriage. (I know. Sounds impossible, right? But there’s is a lot of stories on behind…) And I have some concerns about filing I-130. Question 1 If I change my sir name now due to a marriage, will I have to change my sir name on my passport before filling I-130? Or could I still use my current passport that has my maiden name on? And so long as I have the certificate of name change, would it be okay? Question 2 Since our marriage is less than two years, we have to provide a statement of how we met. But I don’t know how to write it. Can anyone give me some examples or a templates? Also, what is the proof of on-going relationship? Is it also some kind of essay?
