  1. Hello - I recently asked my attorney to update my DS260 due to a mistake that had been made on the form. She mentioned she would contact the NVC and that they’d have to re open my DS260 form, so that changes could be submitted. I have only now had the thought (more like panic) that this could update my DQ date, which is currently May 2021. Does anyone here know if doing so would push back my date to the current date? I thought about calling the NVC, but their phone lines are offline.
  2. Does anyone here have any insight as to how long the wait is at the Rio embassy? My case has been DQ since May 2021, but my priority date (11/30/15) just became current with the May 2024 VB. However, my process was a bit stalled until my I-601A waiver was finalized, which was approved in April 2024. An additional question... based on this, am I basically just getting in line now, or would my place in line have been secured when I got DQ back in 2021? Appreciate any help here!
  3. Not that I'm aware of (when filling out I-9s, etc.). Certainly never when in response to a government/immigration inquiry.
  4. I came to the US at age 10 on a tourist visa with parents, and only got DACA after turning 21. During that time I unfortunately accrued unlawful presence and also had to make ends meet by working your random jobs, some under the table, some not. My mother (who is a permanent resident) petitioned for me, and I've gotten my I-130 and I-601A forms approved during this time (I-601A covered unlawful presence). I now have completed my DS-260 form for consular interview (visa class F2B/F24), but am getting nervous about potentially getting denied if they ask me if I've violated any immigration laws. I understand that for immediate relatives unauthorized work is not a big deal, but seems that doesn't apply to my situation. Any wisdom or insight here is greatly appreciated. Biggest fear is obviously being denied and then having no way to appeal the decision, which would be catastrophic to me considering my entire life is here, and has been since I've been 10.
