Hello! My fiance and I got directions to schedule our K1 interview at the French Embassy on May 6th, 2024, even though our petition is set to expire in July. We went ahead and scheduled it for October, but we just received an email saying it was canceled but not given a reason; when we logged into the portal, our appointment was still there. That was also the only date available when we scheduled. Has anyone else experienced this or understood why they would cancel it? We haven't been provided any more information. Thank you.

I have a close friendship with someone who has been part of USCIS and the whole process, and she says as long as you sound genuine and honest, it all goes smoothly, so, at the end of the day, you just have to feel secure in what you're saying. I do have a question for you! My partner is a resident of Portugal as well, and we just received a letter from the US-France Embassy in Paris that they have received our approved petition. I'm wondering if you two had to make your own appointment or if they sent you an appointed interview letter? ty!

Hello everyone! My fiance and I received confirmation from the US Paris Embassy that it received our approved K1 petition on May 6. On that letter, it provided us a link to self-schedule our interview, but the part where I'm a little lost is that my fiancee is a resident of Portugal, and on the French Embassy Website, it says that "If you are a resident of Portugal, this step is not required." I do not understand if they will send us an appointment letter or if we have to schedule it ourselves. Can anyone clarify that information? And if they will send an appointed interview letter, when should we expect that to come in? Our petition is set to expire in July. Also, with a K1 visa, we just bring all the supporting documents to the interview, correct? The CEAC website doesn't give us an option to upload anything. Thank you!

Hi Mario, I know this post is from a few years back but I believe the process is still very similar. My fiance and I received our welcome letter from the NVC, and I'm wondering if they booked your interview for you or if you had to self-schedule. Additionally, if they did schedule it for you, how long did it take for that letter to come in? If you remember, of course, and if you did self-schedule, could you find an appointment within 4 months? Thank you!
