  1. My wife was able to obtain a Japanese Police Certificate with just the NOA2 letter. She received the Police Certificate in two business days.
  2. All of your responses were correct, it wasn't anything to worry about. The good news is that our I-130 was approved today!
  3. It was due by August 17, 2024. I'm not worried about the date they say it was received since it is way before August anyway.
  4. Hello VJ Members! Sorry if this is a long post, it's my first time doing this. Thank you for your posts of your experiences in this crazy process of obtaining a spouse visa for my wife. We married on May 30, 2023 and filed our I-130 and all supporting documents on June 2, 2023. Our processing time has been extended so many times it's depressing, but I see that my wife and I aren't the only ones who had their processing time go from 4 weeks to 15 months. On May 22, 2024 I received an RFE issued notification from USCIS; they want more proof of a bona fide marriage. I included everything that I could from their checklist in the RFE letter of things to prove a bona fide marriage (photos of us together in Japan and in USA, airline boarding passes, insurance beneficiary letters, photos of visa stamps in passports, screenshots of chats, emails, etc.) I mailed the RFE response to the Texas Service Center, addressed exactly as detailed on the cover sheet. I mailed it USPS Priority Express Mail with Signature Required on June 6, 2024. It was delivered to USCIS on June 7, 2024; the person who received it waived the signature. I heard nothing from USCIS since the RFE response was delivered. Today, June 20, 2024, I received an email from USCIS stating they have taken action on our case. I checked in my USCIS account, hoping that it was that my case was approved. Instead it was a notification that they received the RFE response. However, the message read as: "On June 20, 2024, we received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, Receipt Number IOEXXXXXXXXXX. USCIS has begun working on your case again. We will send you a decision or notify you if we need something from you." The RFE response was delivered on June 7th, but they are saying it was received June 20th. Is that the date an actual human opened the envelope containing the response? Where was it for 13 days? Did the person who received it but didn't sign for it forget to deliver it promptly to the agent handling our case? I am very curious if this kind of date discrepancy happen to any of you VJ members.
