I couldn't move forward with the application without providing letter. that's my problem.

Hello. I am a stepmother to a child that I have helped raised since she was 1. She's lived with me and my husband since we got together. In my application for naturalization I have to declare I have stepchild that lives with me and my husband full time. My question is how do I show proof of child support. I don't technically provide child support. I share all grocery bills, house bills, clothes, school supplies etc with my husband. I am not obligated by law to provide her monthly child support. Any suggestions on how my husband should write letter proving my "child support"? We're at a loss on how it should be written.
