  1. Hi Snailyote, the detailed information is much appreciated. Two days is really fast! Glad you had that experience. How long did it take for you to receive the packet once it was "ready"? How do I determine whether the South African embassy requires us to wait until receiving the packet?
  2. 1. How do I schedule the interview & medical in Johannesburg, SA? 2. Can we schedule them while our petition is “in transit” to the US Embassy? We just got our case number and it is at this stage. 3. On average, how long does it take to go from “in transit” to “ready”? Thanks in advance!
  3. Hi Crazy Cat, What is a certified translation? Can I have my father who is a linguist translate and certify the birth certificate and other forms that require translation? He is a linguist and is also fluent in the foreign language. Thanks, Julia
  4. It is my understanding that Mozambique does not process K1 visas. My beneficiary will be going to South Africa for the interview and medical appointment. From our research, it seems to take about 1 month to get an interview in SA. I appreciate you looking out on our behalf.
  5. Happy to hear you will get to spend part of the holidays and birthday with your fiancé. Wishing you the best of luck! I’m still holding onto hope that there’s a chance my fiancé can be here by Christmas. We were wanting an NYE wedding.
  6. Thank you, apnzz! Do you think you’ll be reunited with your partner before the new year? Is it crazy to be hopeful it’s possible?
  7. I really appreciate the advice. I will try that. I haven’t received an email updates. They have all been via paper mail so far.
  8. Thank you, MalloryCat! I didn’t think it would.
  9. NVC is currently working on 9/16 cases and my NOA2 notice date was 8/31.
  10. I sent the inquiry 9/29. They responded today. Do you think it would be worthwhile sending them a copy of my I-797?
  11. Where did you find the USCIS status update? I’m in the same boat. NOA2 approved August 30th. Submitted an inquiry to NVC and they said they have not received it yet.
  12. @apnzz Thank you for your response. I hope you get good news soon! I couldn’t add the YouTube link to the video TMVN update. Here’s the title if interested in watching: USCIS I-129F July 2024: Skipped Cases & Low Wait Times
  13. @apnzz According to TMVN, USCIS has halted processing submissions May 30 and beyond. Hopefully, this means they will now be working on the ones that were skipped.
  14. Thank you so much for that. How did you receive packet 3? Was it via email or mail? It seems like it took a couple months to receive it.
  15. Curious when you got your NOA1 & NOA2. Our embassy is also Johannesburg.
  16. @flyboyof3 YouTube search: S+Y K1 Visa Journey.
  17. @powerpuff Can an I-864 be brought to the interview instead of the I-134?
  18. I would hope there would be a healthy savings with that kind of income. I believe savings & stock can all be included as evidence.
  19. How do you know it was the beneficiary’s name and not the petitioner’s? We didn’t send anything in regarding a name change. On the I-129f form I didn’t put my middle name in the mailing address. I’m wondering if they added it. I reviewed our entire petition and I do not see anything other than that. The only other thing I can think of is my beneficiary has 4 names. First, middle and two family names.
  20. I checked the status for the i-129f petition here https://egov.uscis.gov/ & the below message came up. Does anyone know what this means?
  21. Great work to you both and thank you for sharing. Hopefully, this means your case will be in transit next shipment. Does ready mean it’s at the US Embassy?
