  1. This question is to get information about our CR-1. We had our DQ on 11/14/25 and our embassy is in Cairo. I understand that it takes about a year or more to get an interview date there. I saw on Reddit that someone transferred their place of interview from Cairo to another country (I believe it was Oman, another one in Rhiyad). She did not mention about them or the beneficiary actually moving to the new country. My question is…. I’m originally from the Philippines and I wonder if we can transfer my husband’s interview from Cairo to Manila? I still have a house there and my work here in the US allows me to be able to stay in the Philippines with my husband for an extended period of time, if needed. Will this be a good idea? Or will it actually do harm with our application? Also, I checked the travel.state.gov website for DQ priority date for interview in Manila, there is no date? Does it it mean that it’s current? Thank you for the reply in advance!
  2. Thanks for the reply and the link. Just wondering. Why is it quicker to get an interview date for K1 vs the CR-1? We initially applied for the K1 and we got the interview date fairly quickly. We did just did not continue with it due to medical issues. Thanks!
  3. Hello! As per the title, what’s the current wait time for visa interview in Cairo? We’ve completed our CEAC and is accepted about two weeks ago. I was just wondering if they currently have a wait time for the interview. Thank you!
  4. Congrats! We received the approval via mail about a month after. Hopefully, everything will go smoothly with both of you!
  5. Hey! Sorry, just saw your reply. I was away for a month. Anyway, glad to see that you’re approved as well. Hopefully, things will just move smoothly for you both. I just submitted my AOS and waiting for my husband’s police certificate then will complete the CEAC phase.
  6. Hi There! I received an update today for my I130 application. When I looked at the USCIS website(case status), it says that our case “is still being processed.” But when I logged in my USCIS account, I found an approval letter document (in pdf) in there. I honestly don’t want to celebrate yet because I’m confused and not sure if our case is actually approved. In the letter, it says “The above petition has been approved.” And they sent our case to NVC in NH. Did anybody experience the same thing?
  7. I think we have been approved. I checked my uscis account and I saw a document of the approval. It says that “the above petition has been approved. “. And they sent our petition to NVC in NH. I don’t think I will receive any approval letter through mail since I applied online. I never received letter for our NOA1. Hopefully that’s the case.
  8. Hello! Does this mean maybe they are starting to work on our case?
  9. I kinda felt like I wanted to get more evidence that the marriage is bonafide. Although, I had a initial consultation (only) with a lawyer, she gave me a tip to add our approved K1 application, which gave me an idea that, they think that our relationship is bonafide. Thanks for the reply.
  10. Correction: Approval in September 2022 and interview schedule January 2023.
  11. Hello! We applied for our K1 on 2021, we were approved January of last year and was able to schedule an interview. However, because of my now husband's mother's medical problems (hospitalized/ICU), we decided to cancel the visa. I (USC) emailed the embassy to cancel the interview and provided the reasons. We decided to marry instead and got married last year. We just submitted our I-130 this month (online). My question is, do we still need to submit a written letter to cancel the K1 visa application, that was approved last year? I'm concerned that this might give us some issues with our I-130 application. Thank you!
