  1. Posted yesterday but my posts seem to have been deleted for some reason. Had my interview yesterday at Houston field office. My husband was allowed in too even though we had not been told it would be a combo interview. Officer was very friendly and explained we would do I-751 interview first and then N-400 afterwards. She said she had already looked through the evidence for I-751 so only had a few questions - that part didn’t take long. Then the N-400 - the civics test along with some yes/no questions and we were done. About 20 mins total for both interviews. Officer explained she couldn’t approve N-400 right away as I-751 needed to be approved and then update in her system. Hoping that won’t take too long. Unlike others the status of I-751 never changed to indicate it was transferred to a different office - still just says Case was Received. But the officer had the file and all the forms so maybe it doesn’t always update.
  2. Hope that process goes quickly for you! Everything would be so much easier if they just looked in advance and saw there was a pending I-751! I have my interview in 2 weeks so will no doubt have a similar experience!
  3. Has anyone recently done a name change alongside naturalization at Houston field office? If so - how long did you wait for oath ceremony? It looks like the wait from approval for normal cases is around 3 weeks so I’m wondering if it extends the time significantly. I realize you have to wait for a court date but presumably in Houston they are fairly frequent.
  4. My interview has been rescheduled for end of June at Houston field office. It has been just over 2 weeks since interview was scheduled and then cancelled. New date is 3 weeks after the original one. Now to start studying for the test and collecting all my evidence together!
  5. Thanks! Managed to talk to someone who is as very friendly but pretty much just read the text of the cancelation letter to me. Hoping that they’ll reschedule soon - would be good to get this over with
  6. Ok thanks. Sorry if this has already been covered but what do you say to get to speak to someone? I get stuck in an endless loop of being asked for a receipt number and if I give it I just get the message that my interview was canceled!
  7. Which number did you call? I may wait until next week as I have a trip planned and the original interview date and the week after would result in me needing to change the date anyway!
  8. Great news. I was not rescheduled so maybe calling did the trick. Did you just ask about your case or do something specific? Did they indicate on the call that they would reschedule you?
  9. I had the same issue. I’m a Jan filer in Houston - got notice on Thursday eve last week that interview was scheduled. Friday morning they canceled it. Must be something to do with the crazy weather last week
  10. Not yet - I’m not expecting anything for at least a few days. I hopefully won’t head to the back of the line for scheduling. I thought it was odd though that it was scheduled and canceled so close to each other.
  11. The day after my interview was scheduled it got “descheduled” - disappointing as now I will have to wait for them to find another date. Anyone else in Houston had a similar experience?
