  1. Today I reached the end of my immigration journey. Took the oath this morning in Houston - lots of people going through the process today at the field office as well as the offsite larger location! I have an appointment at the passport agency on Monday and will then be heading on my travels with my brand new US passport. Good luck to everyone still going through the process and thanks to all for the advice along the way!
  2. Yes you do. It is not mandatory in the sense that if you did not take any trips you don’t have to complete it. But the aggregate length of your trips is used to determine eligibility for citizenship so this section should not considered to be optional.
  3. Agree - I filed under 3 year route which requires tax returns and I just downloaded them all from IRS and uploaded to application. After we filed 2023 taxes I added the 2023 IRS downloads as unsolicited evidence. At interview I was not asked for any further documentation about taxes.
  4. I actually got notice this morning and I have my oath in 2 weeks!!! It will be at the Gears Road USCIS office instead of the MO Campbell place
  5. Same - I have travel less than 2 weeks after oath ceremony. Trying to figure out best method to get urgent passport
  6. Not sure what it was that triggered some progress but oath was scheduled today! 2 weeks out
  7. Ok so after no changes for 5 weeks I asked my Congresswoman to reach out to USCIS. She did that on Friday and then first thing this morning my case finally updated to Quality Review based on approval recommendation! Could be coincidental but seems like that has helped. In the case history it also shows Placed in line for Oath Scheduling with today’s date - I know sometimes when statuses update concurrently it doesn’t necessarily show the last status. Hopefully my oath will be scheduled soon! Getting closer to the finish line!
  8. That’s good to know! I raised a case almost two weeks ago and haven’t received a response yet. I will remain optimistic! I also reached out to my Congresswoman to see if she could get an update on why it’s taking so long!
  9. I know there have been messages in the past about this but is anyone waiting post-interview for movement from Interview Scheduled? My interview was 5 weeks ago and there has been total radio silence except for approval of my I-751 which happened 2 days after interview. My case is very straightforward and interviewing officer said she would approve as soon as I-751 has updated “in a few days” but it has been much longer than that. I know I can sue for a decision after 120 days but my I-751 approval said my N-400 had also been approved (meaning no new green card before oath ceremony) so I don’t know what is going on….
  10. That’s awesome - congrats. I cannot work out why my N-400 is still pending, especially as my I-751 was approved the day of my interview. Tomorrow will be one month since interview and no movement at all
  11. Yes - sent an inquiry on Friday. They said they will respond by 8/20. Not optimistic that it will make any difference
  12. That’s great progress! Now are in the same position. Later this week is a month since interview and my N400 still says interview was scheduled
  13. FYI I found in another thread from a while back, someone in same position as us who submitted an inquiry for a lost approval notice on their case and next day got approved. Maybe coincidence as doesn’t seem to work in all cases but I did the same today and will see what happens. You can do it from USCIS website
  14. Congrats! Did it only just get approved? I had interview on 6/27 so a couple days after you (in Houston field office) and my status is still “interview was scheduled”. I am getting impatient now…
  15. I am tempted to upload the I-751 approval notice with a cover letter to the N-400 as additional unsolicited evidence. Has anyone had any success with that kind of action to get things moving on their case?
  16. I had my joint I-751/N-400 interview 3 weeks ago. I-751 was approved 2 days later but N-400 still shows interview scheduled. At the interview the officer said it would take “a few days” to approve the N-400 after I-751 is approved but now we are 3 weeks out. I know they have 120 days to make their decision but it seems weird that I’m still waiting for approval. Especially since the I-751 approval notice states that I will not receive a new green card because their records show that the N-400 has been approved. Is there anything I can do at this stage to move things along? Feels like the officer has just forgotten about us as she said nothing else was pending.
  17. Out of interest - how long between the notification and the date of the ceremony. Interested to know how much longer it will be for me once my case is finally approved!
  18. I applied under 3 year rule in Houston on Jan 2, and was interviewed on June 27 (interview scheduled on May 20). Despite what the estimated time says, I think you are well within the normal processing time for Houston right now!
  19. They do not but I think “technically” you are not meant to travel until citizenship is done or until you receive a new green card (which we will not)
  20. I have slightly similar scenario. Had combo interview on June 27 in Houston and end result was the same as you described. On June 29 my I-751 showed as approved and I received the approval notice. It says that their records show my N-400 was also approved so I will not get a new green card (officer at the interview also explained that). However it has now been over a week and my N-400 is still at Interview was Scheduled. So now I am stuck in limbo because I won’t have a new green card to travel with but don’t have approval or oath ceremony scheduled for N-400. Hoping it will not take too much longer…
  21. Do you know if they are still holding larger ceremonies as well as the smaller ones in the Field Office? When I attended my interview last week there was a ceremony about to start. Wondering how long from notification of the date until the actual ceremony is as well…
  22. Just checked USCIS account and found that my I-751 shows as approved! No other changes of status like transferring to another office. Case history just shows Case Received in Jan 2023 and Case approved June 2024. Now hoping my N-400 gets approved some time this week as well!
  23. Had a very similar sounding interview experience to you in Houston yesterday. Sadly no N-400 approval yet. Officer said it would take a few days. Did you get any update to the I-751 status as well either before or at the same time as N-400 approval?
