  1. I submitted both, proof of meeting in person as well as continuing relationship. In my case, there was a lot of crossover, so it seemed prudent to submit everything I could. I would absolutely submit your photos, with brief explanations about what they are. I would submit this in addition to evidence of your travels and in person meetings. I-94 records (if applicable) are solid evidence. I also submitted flight receipts, boarding passes, luggage tags, and hotel receipts. The burden of showing an ongoing, bonafide relationship is the heaviest when applying for AOS. I used the filing of our K1 to get all of our proof in line as we will resubmit it all when applying for his green card. The word document with photos I created will be added to, and we will have more receipts from trips/visits/daily life to add to the whole AOS packet. Even if they don't need some of the extra proof I sent along for the K1, having it already mostly compiled for the eventual AOS is worth it and will save time when we are dealing with planning a wedding on short notice, getting married, and applying for AOS. It is also worth mentioning that if your relationship has any "immigration fraud" red flags (examples: age gap, short relationship, recent divorce(s), previously filed for other K1 finances, etc) or is going through a more heavily scrutinized embassy, additional evidence can only help.
  2. My fiance visited about 2 weeks after we filed our 129F and had no issues. He is occasionally reminded at the border that he can't get married while he is here and once he says he knows and is not going to they have no issues. They did that before we filed as well. If you're worried bring proof of needing to return to the home country, like a mortgage statement or a letter/schedule from your employer.
  3. @trisha_h @summer4042 we will get through this together ❤️
  4. Depends on each individual embassy. I would check with an other members in the portal for your country to get a feel for how yours works.
  5. Honestly the best way to help everyone is to fill out your timelines on your profile. You can also look at the portal for your country and read embassy reviews to help you ascertain next steps 🙂
  6. Out of curiosity how long was your case at the NVC before being marked as ready? 🙂
  7. I did some more digging on this (I am UK too and waiting for NVC processing so I have too much anxiety and free time). If you go to the UK Embassy Website - https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/visa-information-services/nonimmigrant-visa-appointments/ - it talks about the process of setting the appointment. If you follow the link to the "Visa Appointment Service website" - https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb - you can look at the steps and resources. Under the 'Create an Account' section - if you follow the prompts for K Visa you will land here: So it does look like you need to wait for the first letter to get to you. I think they might be pre-scheduling K Visa interviews. Once you have that first letter you could probably keep checking the website to see if any new appointments pop up earlier than what they set you for.
  8. On the website for booking interviews, it states that you should only create an account if you have the interview letter. I believe you need a copy of it at the medical and interview. Were you marked ready at the NVC on June 24th? The NVC only sends files to the embassy every two weeks, and the 24th falls right in the gap between ship dates. I would think yours would have hopefully been sent to the embassy on this week's shipping
  9. Even if you end up needing a COVID jab in the US they are free here and super easy to get I believe once you get your booster next week you will be set, though! That's how my fiance and I interpreted it.
  10. I don't have an answer for this but I have a related question. Did they mention how recent the Hep B series needed to be? Just trying to get ahead of the curve for k1 and AOS
  11. It wouldn't let me edit - but I wanted to add that I know I'm being impatient I was just hoping to keep things moving.
  12. I believe that's the NVC to Embassy calendar I attached it here. Obviously nothing I can do about it - but I just wanted to share. Until I saw the notation on myUSCIS I didn't even know they hadn't sent the petition yet.
  13. You can refer to this link to see processing times - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html Per that they are working on cases sent June 7th. So I am at the 2.5 week mark (approved June 10th) but they are not even working on cases in that timeframe yet. You can also see on myUSCIS when your petition was actually sent to the NVC. In my case, it looks like it was sent June 25th, so they waited two weeks after approval to send it on to the NVC in the first place. I sent an inquiry yesterday and got a nearly immediate response stating they haven't received mine yet. Just wanted to share.
  14. Wait until you are completely free to marry. Use the time to visit (if you can) and build your case. By submitting the K1 you are attesting to the fact that you are completely free and clear to marry. At a minimum, the petition is denied, you are out the $675 fee, and you have to explain your denial when you reapply and pay again. They could also get you for perjury if they are feeling advantageous. I have heard that reapplying for a k1 after a denial is very difficult. I'm sorry your state has that rule I understand just wanting to be together.
  15. Thank you! He has the original document that the court sent him but it just makes me nervous because my US set of documents has a court seal and is signed and his looks like a normal letter. Appreciate the help! Editing to add: I am on the phone with him now and he said he requested the copy through that link you provided so hopefully all good
  16. Hey there! Yes, he does. The divorce was done on the internet so he has the 'Final order' from the family court. They did not use a solicitor. I want to assume that this document we have suffices, as it was literally all he was sent from the family court. However, compared to my divorce decree there is nothing on the document to show that it is certified or original. It was sent to both him and his ex-wife upon the finalization of their divorce. It was accepted on the USCIS side so I want to believe it would be fine for the NVC/Embassy stage but it's immigration so I don't feel comfortable assuming anything.
  17. Hello there! My fiance and I just got our NOA2 on 06/10 so we are working diligently to get everything prepared so that once interview time is here we are ready to go. My concern is the divorce proof for his (the UK fiance) divorce. I know that the UK provides very different documentation than they do here in the States when it comes to the final divorce decrees. I was able to get an additional certified copy of my own divorce decree for his interview, but I am slightly worried about them asking for something similar from him at the NVC and interview stage. He has said they can request a UK notary of the document or an apostille stamp but I know there is a cost involved and looking to minimize any expenses as we are obviously looking at an already costly immigration process. Does anyone have any experience with this? Old threads I saw were in regards to RFEs at the USCIS stage but we are past that now. He has an inquiry to the embassy as well, but was hoping for some VJ guidance in the interim. Thanks all!
  18. Yep! I got the NOA2 in the mail nearly two weeks ago now, so just waiting for the NVC letter and then the embassy letter
  19. I submitted both proof of meeting within 2 years and a bona fide relationship. I didn't want to give the caseworker any doubts, and you only get one first impression. We submitted the below: Flight receipts for all flights Joint holiday receipts Boarding passes and luggage tags from the different airports (luggage tags had our names on them) A copy of the beneficiary's passport AND their I-94 record. Photos from all the visits and the holiday we took. Photos with other people (friends/family) For the 129F you should only send in scans, per the instructions they do not promise to return any original documents.
  20. He's from Nottinghamshire! We just got our NOA2 last week so we don't have an NVC number yet and are not quite at the embassy. So just a smidge behind you! We have everything requested (police cert.) and are now just waiting until we can bug the NVC.
  21. To add some color here~ It is 6 months from the date of the medical, however many people view it as 6 months from visa approval because the recommendation is that you plan your medical 5-10 days prior to your interview (always check your packet 3 guidance in case your embassy has a different timeline). I see you are filing for the UK (me too!), I believe they say 5-10 days between medical and interview My fiance will need most of the 6 months to give his notice at work and sort out the house in the UK, so we are hoping to find a close medical and interview slot.
  22. If you are concerned about the credit card company rejecting the transaction you can always call ahead and give the servicer a heads up. It isn't foolproof but it can help. Keep in mind that there are also people who have successfully used the credit card form. Everyone's experience is different, and sometimes it comes down to the individual servicer and card usage history.
  23. We just got our NOA2 online on 06/12 (dated 06/11). NOA2 official paper came a few days later dated 06/10. We are patiently waiting for the NVC step and embassy processing.
  24. In terms of K1 - I saw someone post a screen shot of their USCIS portal and they only had the “case received” (NOA1), any RFE back and forth and then the “petition approved” (NOA2). They don’t seem to be updating when the case is touched and like the previous post says, when they were they were not even that helpful.
  25. Posting this here because I was asking the same questions and found this on an old thread 🙂 https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/required-documents/ I know it doesn’t answer the wet/scanned signature question per se, but it is direct from the consulate. Since the I-134 is not “required” but is a suggested format then I believe a scanned signature should be fine. It also looks like the reaffirmation is only required in certain cases. Obviously follow any directives you receive in packet 3 as they may request it from individuals even though it is not a general requirement.
