  1. Hi there, My husband’s AOS was rejected due to checking the box for “Spouse of USC” versus “Entered as a fiance of USC”. As such they were asking for proof of I130 instead of the I129F. i know we have to correct that page and obviously update the signature page. The lime green page will have to be the first page of the packet to advise them of the resubmission. Question is - do we need to reprint a brand new I-485 or can we just swap the pages out? Additionally- the package came back to us in the most indiscernible order, and it is all stapled together in small chunks. I’ve seen some people say to just update what needs updating and send it back in the order it is in - and others saying to order it like a brand new filing. I wasn’t sure if there was a right or wrong way to do it. I do have additional joint bills/statements we can add so wasn’t sure if reorganization was the best route.
  2. Yes. I was sent everything back - including my original tracking label and photos. Then I got the infamous green sheet to send back in with the re-file, as they opened the sealed medical file. You can see where the computer scanned everything in by the barcode on the bottom
  3. My checks were returned as well - not charged.
  4. Yes sent both. I think I found the issue - on page 5 Q 3a we selected “Spouse of US Citizen” and not “Person admitted as a fiancée”. I think it triggered the wrong document flow. Feeling like an absolute idiot.
  5. I485 was rejected saying that we needed proof of an immigrant petition and priority date - even though they literally sent us back the 129F NOA2 with the packet (one of the top pages they stapled, actually). Anyone have any experience with resubmitting when we sent all they needed (and more?)
  6. This is me too 😅 I have to force myself to count the days as business days.
  7. Any headway with your bank? And you said you got an NOA...does case status online say rejected?
  8. Sorry for the double post - and please no one roast me for this. There's a lawyer on Tik Tok who mentioned payment issues within the last few days (JQK Immigration). They said they were having credit card filings being placed on hold due to payment issues, and then these issues were later found to be clerical issues. They ended up getting the NOAs a few weeks later. They said 1 in 20 of their filed cases saw this, and that it started cropping up in December. Just wanted to share - maybe its a simiilar issue to what you are seeing, especially since it says balance due is $0.
  9. Did you send one check for both forms? (I think you mentioned filing for AOS and EAD? Correct me if I'm wrong though!)
  10. I'm also a Chicago filer -and nothing yet. Was delivered Monday. I was hopeful for a quick NOA1 but it seems this lockbox is slower. I'm thankful for this forum otherwise I'd be crazy anxious. My K1 NOA1 came so quick.
  11. I would not wait, if possible. Waiting means you are delaying the opportunity to add to bank accounts (if the bank requires) and you delay the opportunity to build credit. My state will not allow anyone without a SSN to apply for a drivers license (I would ask your state license bureau). We are barely in a new administration, which means we do not yet have any indication on processing times. We chose not to wait and we got my husband’s applied for online once the I-94 was ready, then went in person a week later and finished applying. We were able to put his SSN on the AOS and EAD paperwork.
  12. AOS + EAD filed for, dropped off at the post office last night and they confirmed receipt on the tracking this morning
  13. For any who may benefit - Mint Mobile (cellphone company) did not require proof of SSN or residency to start service. This became our proof of address (utility) If the international partner is able to show their new US address on their international bank accounts (even as just a mailing address), that is proof of address. Check with your bank first, ofc. Once you apply for the SSN, you are given a letter with your name and address showing you applied. That is proof of address. If you have animals, add them to the vet bills, license bills, etc. They do not normally require a SSN for these things and it becomes a joint bill and potentially proof of address. I highly recommend talking to the license bureau's in person. I received one answer via the online chat and a different on in person. When you go to the bank, you can explain to the banker that the k1 fiance is seen as in the US temporarily (which is true, until AOS is filed for and approved). When we added my husband to our (now) joint accounts, they were able to select that and then fill in the forms using his visa information. We did not need SSN at the time for this, but we have since received it and will be adding it to the accounts. If you want to send proof of bonafide relationship with the K1 AOS you can submit notarized statements from friends and family, I believe USCIS mentions this specifically You can always ask your current utility provider to add their name to a bill so its joint, I was only able to find one (heat) and it did not require a SSN. Hope this helps!
  14. My husband applied for his SSN last week. I can see in the SAVE system where the check was ran by USCIS and returned back to the SSA. I changed my legal name on the same day and also have not received my updated card, and I know things are a bit slower right now, We hope to file our AOS ASAP and were wondering how to go about doing that when the I-485 asks if the individual has ever been issued an SSN. He hasn't technically been issued one, so would the answer be no? I don't want to cause any issues moving forward but we would like to get everything filed. We do have plenty of time remaining on his I-94 status if needed, as we married a few days after he got here. Wasn't sure if anyone had any recent experience or insight on this Thanks!
  15. Was your DS3025 marked as "completed"? Not the actual vaccines, where Visa Medicals would have checked a box saying "Voluntarily Complied (complete)" or something else.
  16. I would contact your embassy if possible.
  17. Did they say it was because they hadn't received your medical yet - or because they were still reviewing it? If they are waiting to receive it I would call Visa Medicals and check the status with them My fiance had to do this after his interview in order to get his sent over to the embassy.
  18. This is from the I-693 instructions from USCIS! It was news to me when I found it. luckily we were able to find a civil surgeon willing to do only the vaccine portion for a decent price. I already have it scheduled for when my fiance gets here.
  19. Usually, once you apply for the SSN they really are just waiting for the physical card to be sent to you - as they do not print these at local SS offices. I think most people had issues at the SS office after getting married because local clerks think that by getting married you 'VOID' your visa...when in reality the visa is valid for 90 days from entry (somewhat regardless of date of marriage). I think most people had issues when the non-USC spouse was the one changing their name upon marriage, as it raises a few eyebrows. We are planning to get my fiance's SSN after marriage, as we really have no choice with him flying in so close to our planned wedding date, as well as the holidays. He won't be changing his name so hopefully there are no issues. This is all based on things I have read on here though! Might be different experiences by state.
  20. Calling out for people who use US date format - this is effective December 2, 2024!
  21. My fiance took two passports to his interview but I don't think they asked for his old one. He didn't have any from before that. We really only had his previous one because he had to recently renew his - and we wanted to ensure that he had the passport tied to the proof of relationship we have (I-94 + travel accommodations). The UK embassy asked for none of it
  22. I have no clue about that tbh - but that is the card he has! He's not planning to use/need the debit card. He really just needed it to transfer money between our US and UK accounts.
