  1. Hey guys My fiance and I filed our I129F back in January, expecting to have everything ready by next year. We got lucky enough that it was approved in 3 months and we can now schedule the interview. The problem is that he didn’t meet the federal poverty guidelines because there were 4 months that he didn’t work as we were traveling together. We asked his mom to be our joint sponsor because we don’t want to have to wait until next year to file again and possible have to wait another 2/3 years to finally be together, but she spoke to a lawyer (not immigration) and he strongly advised her not to because he told her if I get sued (immigrant), they can go after her. We know we should’ve waited until he met the guidelines but we didn’t think it’d be approved as fast and we thought his mom would help if needed as she always said she wishes there was anything she could do to help us out. I have looked online to find out if what she was told is true but I can’t find that anywhere. Does anyone who’s been through the process have any insight? Thanks!
  2. We sent it out! Hopefully that helps our case. Thank you all for your help and recommendations and good luck to everyone who is also going through this process!
  3. We got the NOA1 in January. Thanks for the advice! What we’re really wondering is if we should wait for the RFE to send those documents or just do it before we even get one.
  4. Idk, I don’t think it’s going to be as fast either, I am only basing that on the information from track my visa now. They are averaging 6 months. I am just unsure if I should send out the documents or wait for an RFE.
  5. We got our NOA1 in January and according to trackmyvisa, our case is close to being reviewed, that's what I meant! I'll keep an eye on this timeline too, thanks!
  6. Thank you! We are really hoping for an RFE. Fingers crossed!
  7. Well just realised I mixed up my words lol. Let me reword this. I realised we forgot to send my letter of intent to marry (we only sent the petitioner's) and to include flight tickets and airbnbs, because we thought that was only for the interview (we did send photos together). Should I mail this to USCIS? We are really stressing out. Should have researched better in advance, but now we are so close... Is it likely that we will just get and RFE or should we try sending my letter and those trip receipts?
  8. Hey guys. According to trackmyvisa we are almost there, which got me reading a lot of forums about the process. I realised we forgot to send both letter of intent to marry (we only sent the petitioner's) and pictures of us (but forgot to include flight tickets and airbnbs, because we thought that was only for the interview). Should I mail this to USCIS? We are really stressing out. Should have researched better in advance, but now we are so close... Is it likely that we will just get and RFE or should we try sending my letter and those trip receipts?
