Hi All, Update: I had an email from US Embassy on 14 June asking me to send my passport in for Visa Issuance, further to the reply I got in this thread you DO NOT GET 3 MONTHS to send it back but 30 DAYS, also it has go by DX Courier. You take your passport to a DX Courier site and they send it back to the Embassy in London, I sent mine last Monday 24 June, they said it will take 7/10 days to get back, I will get another email telling me to collect it. I will let you know when I get it. I waited almost 8 months from interview to sending passport back for my B1/B2 Visa, hope this helps someone. Update: I had an email from the US Embassy on 2 July to say they handed my passport back to DX courier, next day 3rd July DX Courier sent an email to say ready to collect, drove to Manchester ( take driving licence ID) and collected it. Total 8 days from sending to US Embassy to getting passport back in my hand. Visa issue date was 1 July, very quick turnaround Hope this helps

Thanks again for the help, would love to know the exact timeframe just to put mine and my girlfriends' minds at rest, but good to know it could be few months before I need to send it back. So happy I found this forum!! I will keep you posted don't worry. John

Hello, I was refused my visa at interview in London I’m a UK citizen, got a waiver of ineligibility ( same as in 2017, I have a conviction got visa and went to USA few times ) If they request my passport for visa issuance how long do I have to send it back, I go to Greece soon and don’t want to lose my holiday or my visa chance. eg. If they say I only have two weeks to send it back while I’m in Greece I may lose my chance after a six month wait.

I have been waiting six months now, interview Oct 2023, my first visa B1/B2 in 2017 took just on six months too. I go to Greece in 7 weeks , not sure if I can go , if they email me to send passport back I might miss my chance if I’m in Greece, not sure how long you get to send it back, getting nervous.

Thanks so much for the info, I am just on 6 months waiting after refusal, should win appeal like last time and send passport back. interview was 24 Oct 23, was told could be six months , getting nervous now as I go to Greece in 2 months time and they might still have my passport if I send it back , been checking spam folder everyday haha
