If you are male, there is a 99% chance you will be placed under Administrative Processing (AP), regardless of whether you have an exemption card or have completed military service. Selecting Ankara, Dubai, or Yerevan could be challenging, as you will need to travel to these countries for your interview, and then mail your passport there to have the visa stamped. It’s ultimately your decision, but I believe it will be difficult. No one can predict the exact processing time, but it typically takes about 6 months. II think that the officer consider your country of birth, but having a Canadian passport could help expedite the AP wait time.

Hello Every one, My passport and photos were delivered on December 18, 2024. But I received the below response from Consulate!!! Hello, Thank you for your inquiry. We acknowledge receipt of your medical exam. However, we have not yet received the other requested documents. All mail directed to the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal is received at an offsite mail processing facility. It takes additional time before the mail actually reaches the Visa Unit. If applicants do not send the mail using our courier service, longer mail processing delays may be expected. Once additional documents are received, an adjudicating Consular officer will review the case taking into consideration the additional evidence provided. As soon as the review is complete, the Visa Unit will provide you with further details regarding the status of the visa application.

Hello Everyone, My case is under EB2. On December 13th, 2024, I received an email from the Montreal Consulate requesting that I send my passport, two passport photos, and an updated medical. I mailed the documents promptly, and my updated medical was submitted on December 20th. However, my case status has not been updated yet. I sent a follow-up email, but I have not received a response. Is there anything else I can do at this stage? Does this mean that AP is complete?

For the DV Lottery 2023, I submitted the DS-5535, and the AP only took about three months. But when I had my EB-2 interview at the end of May 2024, the officer told me that the AP/clearance from last year was for a different application and wasn’t related to my EB-2 case. So, I was told to submit a new DS-5535, even though nothing had changed in my DS-5535.

Hi, I received an email from the Montreal Consulate this morning, requesting the following documents: Updated Medical Exam, Two recent passport-sized photos, and Passport. Which shipping service would you recommend for sending these documents—UPS or Purolator? Also, I had my interview using the passport from my home country. However, I received my Canadian passport a few months ago and have already emailed them a picture of it. Should I send my Canadian passport or the original one from my home country to the Consulate? Thank you in advance for your input!

Hi everybody, Does anyone know how I can find a congressman to contact for assistance with my case? My case has been under Administrative Processing (AP) for over six months with no updates, and I would like to reach out to a congressman who could help by contacting the Consulate to expedite the process.

Hello everyone, In 2023, I had an interview for the DV lottery, during which the officer requested that I submit DS-5535. After the administrative processing was completed, I was asked to send my passport. However, two days later, the visa cap was reached, and my passport was returned without a visa. I had another interview on May 31, 2024, for my EB2-NIW case. The officer again requested DS-5535 and placed my case in administrative processing. He mentioned that he would flag my application since I had previously undergone administrative processing and would expedite my case. As of now, I have not received any updates. What steps can I take to address this situation? How can I find a congressman to help me?
