  1. For the DV Lottery 2023, I submitted the DS-5535, and the AP only took about three months. But when I had my EB-2 interview at the end of May 2024, the officer told me that the AP/clearance from last year was for a different application and wasn’t related to my EB-2 case. So, I was told to submit a new DS-5535, even though nothing had changed in my DS-5535.
  2. My lawyer sent the picture of my Canadian Passport at the beginning of November. My lawyer and I have not received any reply from them yet.
  3. Hi, I received an email from the Montreal Consulate this morning, requesting the following documents: Updated Medical Exam, Two recent passport-sized photos, and Passport. Which shipping service would you recommend for sending these documents—UPS or Purolator? Also, I had my interview using the passport from my home country. However, I received my Canadian passport a few months ago and have already emailed them a picture of it. Should I send my Canadian passport or the original one from my home country to the Consulate? Thank you in advance for your input!
  4. Hi everybody, Does anyone know how I can find a congressman to contact for assistance with my case? My case has been under Administrative Processing (AP) for over six months with no updates, and I would like to reach out to a congressman who could help by contacting the Consulate to expedite the process.
  5. Hello everyone, In 2023, I had an interview for the DV lottery, during which the officer requested that I submit DS-5535. After the administrative processing was completed, I was asked to send my passport. However, two days later, the visa cap was reached, and my passport was returned without a visa. I had another interview on May 31, 2024, for my EB2-NIW case. The officer again requested DS-5535 and placed my case in administrative processing. He mentioned that he would flag my application since I had previously undergone administrative processing and would expedite my case. As of now, I have not received any updates. What steps can I take to address this situation? How can I find a congressman to help me?

  7. Hello everyone, I've been going through several posts and I'm a bit confused. Currently, I'm in Administrative Processing for EB2-NIW. I wanted to ask if it's permissible to travel to the US by car and/or flight? I've gathered that flying to the US with a return ticket is not an issue, but I'm uncertain about driving there instead. Please let me know your ideas.

  9. Thank you @neds for your quick reply and all the details. My lawyer also provided a Memo letter for me. I do not know whether I have to give it to the officer or not. Did the officer ask any other question about your future job in the US? You mentioned in your previous post, what exactly did you respond to the officer when he asked for the employment/job offer?
  10. Hi @neds Congratulations on your visa approval. Very good news. I will have the interview this Friday, May 31st. Would you please let me know what other documents (in addition to those listed the Montreal website) the first or second officer asked you to give to them? Did you husband do the military service or he has the exemption card? What other questions the second officer ask? Thank you!
  11. Hi guys, I have a medical appointment for EB2-NIW. I had a surgery (ACL ligament) on February 2024. Should I tell this to the doctor? If I say, does it affect my application? Thank you!
  12. Very good news. Would you please share the link of this with me? Thanks
  13. @TheMaverick AS you got the immediate approval during the interview, did you have the exemption card for the military service?
  14. Hi guys, Please share your ideas. Last year, I had an interview at the US consulate in Montreal for the DV Lottery. They placed me in administrative processing and requested that I complete Form 5535. My administrative processing was concluded, and I was cleared at the beginning of September. They then emailed me instructions to mail my passport for visa labeling. However, upon delivery of my passport, I was informed that the visa quota had been reached, and there were no visas available for me. My question is whether the administrative processing I underwent for the DV Lottery could apply to my EB2-NIW interview scheduled for May 31st? Alternatively, is there a possibility that I may be placed under administrative processing again?
