  1. Because their job is to serve the public, for a variety of reasons. Should I be contacting them 9 months into my process? No. 3 years later with no answers? Absolutely! Not to override security checks, but some people are being treated according to the law during this process.
  2. I have to agree, I was a little shocked reading this too. It is not going to resolve any issues.
  3. I would not recommend transferring careers into something you do not enjoy doing. This will only aggravate you more. Find something you are passionate about. It seems that you have the perfect setup, able to live with your family, but pride is getting in the way. I know when my husband and I arrive, we will not have the luxury to live with family long-term. It will be more of a short time, waiting for an apartment or house to be approved and lights turned on. I suggest you enjoy this freedom for now, and he needs to stop worrying about the kitchen.
  4. I have to agree with the previous commenter. This ultimatum should have been your out. The dating period is to see whether or not someone is a good fit.
  5. Passive aggressive behavior. Passive aggressive behavior. That is abuse.
  6. December filer here...Not many people get approved before the one year mark. MOST of us wait many months. Not as many people are being approved as you may think.
  7. Filing online allows you to add additional evidence. It is taking around 13 months for I130's to be approved, so in that time you can be uploading more evidence.
  8. Thanks for confirming this with the OP. Someone was spreading misinformation and arguing with me. Hence the reason the admin removed the comments.
  9. You start with the I130 which leads you to getting the Cr1 or Ir1 visa. Cr1 is for couples that have been married less than 2 years. After the I130 is approved is when you apply for the Cr1 or Ir1.
  10. A question regarding vaccines- My husband received the vaccines listed for immigration as a baby. He is not sure if his mother has any record of the vaccines, and they are probably impossible to obtain in his home country. Does immigration accept tilter tests to verify immunity?
  11. Although I took the vaccine myself to continue teaching internationally, I am not a huge fan. I am hoping they take it off the vaccine list for immigration. Not sure why it is still a requirement. I have heard of people actually getting COVID the actual virus and having these same side effects.
  12. Write a Will with her as the beneficiary, include travel documents such as boarding passes, reservations, etc. Sometimes you have to think creatively! Also sometimes people get RFE's because they need a marriage certificate submitted in a different form, something they do not realize is an issue when submitting paperwork. Some of these RFE's are coming from high fraud countries and USCIS is really trying to comb through evidence of marriage.
  13. Yes it is normal. I am 47 and have only been called 3 times since turning 18 and the third time I could not do it because I was here out of the US. You will get a call eventually, and whether you actually serve on a jury depends on what type of case you get called for.
  14. Do you know if the folio for marriage is needed for the I130? Or just during the NVC stage?
  15. ??? Actually this is your choice to your child behind. Like others said, the Visa should be in your hands before making arrangements. Don't blame anyone else for your child being left behind.
  16. So you are willing to pay an extortion fee to live by your "principles"?
  17. I am not a huge fan of the COVID vaccine either, but you must make sure the information is factual by siting reliable sources, of all this information you are sharing.
  18. It is the same process all over the world....I would start asking more questions and ask her to be honest with you and spend a lot more time with this person before you get married. Something is off.
  19. Something is not adding up. She had to have been told, I believe they even give you a paper stating why you are denied ( I know of someone that received a sheet that gave the exact reason). I would dig deeper.... Who filled out the form for her? Something is not right...
  20. I am the petitioner (wife) and my husband is Honduran. I have a good teaching job here (In Honduras) making US dollars and my husband makes Lempiras at his government job. I have been transferring money to his account for some classes he is taking, and uploading the transfers as evidence. He gives me money for various different things but usually gives it to me in cash. We have 2 separate bank accounts because direct deposits work differently here with employers. Yes, I am the main bread winner of the the relationship, it is what it is. Because we don't have joint accounts I uploaded a Will I wrote for the state of Florida and both of our names are on the apartment lease, here in Honduras. I think you will be fine. My marriage is valid, so I am not too worried about it. Upload the transfer documents, added with other pieces of evidence and I believe you will be fine. We have a 4 year age difference.
  21. Also, I am wondering if you can get all your missing information (USCIS number) through FOIA. https://www.foia.gov/. You have a right to that receipt number because the I130 has your personal information on it, (SSN, etc.). Please do report the cousin.
