  1. Yes we were in status. My wife has the following documents: K1 (expired) I-797c to adjust status with I-485 Texas drivers license EAD card SSN card
  2. Currently adjusting status from K1 to temporary green card (I-485 pending). Would there be any issue passing through an inland border checkpoint?
  3. Sorry, I would like to correct that this RFE is regarding I-864 (not I-865) Our I-134 was accepted, we received the K1 visa, arrived to the US and are now married.
  4. When we submitted AOS for K1, I (petitioner) was a recently graduated student with no income. Our only I-865 was from my mom. Today we received an RFE requesting two things: 1. proof of citizenship for my mom to go along with her I-865 2. an I-865 from the petitioner (me), because "Even if a joint sponsor will be used, the petitioning sponsor MUST submit Form I-864" Wanted to make this post to maybe help someone else avoid this mistake. I also would like to confirm that we only need to follow the instructions of uploading 1. copy of RFE, 2. birth certificate for my mom and 3. I-864 for me with all relevant documents (eg, tax returns, pay stubs, etc). We don't need to re-upload everything we originally submitted, only the requested documents in the RFE?
  5. The Lima embassy has a website to schedule interviews. The soonest was about 6 weeks from the date the embassy received our documents. Every embassy is a little different. I've seen where several peopled waited weeks or months for the Lima embassy to contact them about an interview but never did. Eventually they just reached out and were told to go ahead and schedule. I believe it is better to be proactive about contacting the Lima embassy. For example, when we learned the NVC had sent our documents to Lima, I used the "DHL hack" [1] to see when the package arrived, then I emailed the embassy the same day, and got a response maybe 2 days later to schedule. 6. I am going to assume the answer is no, I have reviewed the website periodically and no new dates have appeared.
  7. Hello everyone, our K1 visa interview is in Lima, Peru in about two months. Lima allows both individuals to attend the interview, and unfortunately my job may prevent me from attending the interview at this later date. Is there any hope that if we keep reviewing the website, a sooner date will appear? Anyone have experience with Premium Delivery specifically in Peru? Thank you!
  8. My fiance is from Peru and we recently had our I-129F approved in less than 4 months. Just wanted to list some things that you probably already know. My understanding is you need to include every single page of the passport, even blank pages The packaging can make a difference. I originally had all of our documents in a binder, in plastic sleeves. I did one consult with a lawyer who told me it couldn't be processed like that, because they want to scan everything, and that they would throw it away. I then arranged it to be individual sheets of paper, with paperclips. Good luck, your case sounds very solid!
