  1. @Lymen not sure what to tell more as you know they reinstate if they think they should. My husband's father passed away which is why we requested this and it worked. I echo the same that change your lawyer. In terms of email, you would need to send them message via USCIS account. Plus when you request for reinstate, you need to send letters and supporting evidence (details are on uscis website). Our case was like we were waiting for interview date at embassy and that time his father passed away so it was really at last stage so i guess they considered plus all of our family members are residing in usa. We pointed out all of these things when requested for a reinstatement. You can do it yourself like we did instead lawyers. Also make sure that you put your name down as beneficiary and i guess your brother would be substitute petitioner...make it very clear in your letter. Hope this helps
  2. @Lymen do you have any sibling who is US citizen and live in USA? Can they not help? My brother lives in the US who contacted USCIS on our behalf. Also you can open an account with USCIS and email them. We emailed USCIS and replied us back. I dont know why you couldn't contact them by now. They certainly take time but respond
  3. @Lymen USCIS reinstated our petition as you know so if someone tells you there is no such thing, it's not correct. They took two years for us but they reinstated the petition. Not sure why your lawyer does not help in this case. You need to push them and clarify why not. They should be able to get response from USCIS
  4. @Tina A ours was California service center too. We didn't use any lawyer either just submitted the request with substitute petitioner and they took two years to reinstate. Then NVC took another 4 months to reopen the old case.
  5. I just logged in and can see they reopened our account on 6th july but we didnt receive notification. Thank you Ana just because you mentioned I logged in. We can now start providing the docs
  6. Its been almost 4 months since we received reaffirmation and NVC did nothing. We are not able to log in either using old ceac acc as there is none
  7. @Ana_ could you let know that did you have submit all civil docs to NVC again? How long NVC take to reopen the case? Our petition was documentarily qualified, we were waiting for interview to be scheduled but due to death of petitioner, we had to request for humanitarian reinstatement to USCIS.
  8. @Lymen email or message them through USCIS PORTAL as they usually come back within a month. We tried but never got through human apart from once.
  9. @Lymen, yes we were waiting for interview but the petitioner passed away hence this petition went back to USCIS
  10. @Dilyad khana could you please let me know whether did you have to resubmit all beneficbeneficiaries documents and substitute petitioner (guess yes for a new petitioner) ? Our case was documentarily approved and were waiting on interview but due to petitioner’s death, we requested for humanitarian reinstatement and this has now been reaffirmed by uscis. Our case is still locked by NVC. Guess they also take 2.5 months time to reopen. Thanks.

  12. Yes we have been in the similar situation as to our case has been reaffirmed and sent back to NVC but the account of ceac is still locked. It's been more than a month of waiting and we aren't able to call anyone for this. We only have notification online by USCIS that they reaffirmed our case. Not sure if we have to action on anything or just wait for NVC to come back on this? Thanks
  13. Hi Ana, need some information please. Our case has also been reaffirmed by USCIS as requested for humanitarian reinstatement. We only received an email mentioning about reaffirmation they asked us to contact NVC but there is no mail for it. When we contacted NVC, we were told that they haven’t received anything from USCIS. It's impossible to get someone on phone so not sure what to do about it? Do they take long to send approval notice by mail?
