  1. Yes, we checked the online status through the online status portal but the weird thing is this, the notice date online says February 26 2010 but the paper says April 13 2009 which is vastly different. Also, given that the visa bulletin is on March 2009 then our turn should be coming up anytime within the next 1-2 years but still nothing
  2. I tried submitting an inquiry on my moms behalf but since it’s her case they wouldn’t give me any info so I have to wait another 60 days to reapply.
  3. Yeah I don't mind that it takes a couple years tbh. Just heard from others they had their petitions from 2012+ approved but of course since a visa isn't available they have to wait at NVC.
  4. Got it, thanks for the update! I would have thought they would process at least the I130 but would this mean that if the I130 gets approved it would get scheduled for an interview right after DQ?
  5. Hello all, My mom has a PD of 04/13/2009 for her brother in Pakistan. To this date we haven't gotten any updates for the case and it still shows it is "Processing as normal". No I130 approval or anything from what we can see and address is updated for USCIS. Just wondering if this is normal... Thanks!
  6. Hello all, Doing standalone I130 for consular processing and my petition was approved but I made a mistake on the form such that section 61 had a YS location for AOS but USCIS took into account the beneficiary's last address and are going to forward it to NVC which is what I want. Anyone else in a similar situation? Also, for my country I just put Pakistan and the NVC should auto-select Islamabad as the embassy correct? That is the only one in the country that does immigrant visas. “We have approved the above petition. However, you indicated on the petition both that the beneficiary intends to apply for an immigrant visa through consular processing at a U.S. embassy or a U.S. consulate outside the United States and also that the beneficiary intends to apply for adjustment of status in the United States. Because the beneficiary's last address on the petition is outside the United States, and you have not informed us that the beneficiary is in the United States and intends to adjust status, we have forwarded the petition to the Department of State's National Visa Center (NVC) for consular processing.”
  7. My spouse in Pakistan is supposed to go to the US embassy in Karachi to get a certified copy of her passport. My question is that does the US consular officer have to sign/stamp the W7 as well or is the certified true copy with their sign/stamp enough?
  8. Apparently the current administration is looking to put specific countries with outright visa bans and other countries with severe visa restrictions such as Pakistan which is where I am sponsoring. I’m doing a I130 and am currently processing at USCIS. From what I’m reading, USCIS processing will still happen as normal but at the NVC assuming that immigrant visas are restricted what will happen? I’m guessing all visa interviews for immigrant visas will be cancelled for the time being until some other change is made right? Just really freaked out since I expect the USCIS petition status to get updated mid of this year and NVC to interview my wife sometime end of this year or early next year if they keep up the pace. Does anyone recall what happened last time where there were visa restrictions and what you would recommend this time around?
  9. Legally speaking, if a person is already married then they are barred from becoming a US Citizen as polygamy is illegal in the United States. Even if your husband divorced one of his wives, his case would still be denied because then he would be trying to get a VISA based off a "fake" marriage AKA getting married/divorced for a VISA which is also not allowed. Unless the petitioner lies on the application and hides their other marriage, which could result in a permanent VISA ban, they are out of luck.
