  1. Thank you for acknowledging! Boston CBP were amazing with their due diligence and professionalism. I love how they protect our borders.🙏
  2. So just an update. I travelled from London to Boston as a connecting flight to Portland OR, with my expired green card (expired over the 24 month extension), with the I-797 receipt notice in hand. Officers were extremely diligent and friendly in questioning me and sent me to a room to await for my issue to be resolved. All I can say is I have not had a more pleasant experience with the Boston CBP. I was permitted in. Thank you again and headed for my biometrics appt!l
  3. I have a copy of my I-797 notice, both on paper and electronic copy. Is either ok to use when presenting this to an agent at the airport?
  4. Hey there! I have an expired green card and had to fly to the UK on a legal matter. I applied to renew GC, and will receive a biometrics appointment notice, just awaiting for it to come. Will my passport, expired green card and the letter be enough at this point?
  5. Good morning VJers! A quick question I am hoping one of you might know. I applied to renew my 10 year GC, and I received a ‘receive your biometrics appointment notice’ note on my acct. I am currently on vacation in England, and won’t be back in America until end of August. Will this now be delayed or can I visit a UK embassy to get this done? I’ve tried to contact the USCIS, but cannot find how to send a message or the right tool to use for communicating. Can anyone help?
  6. No, I don’t think I’ve explained myself correctly or my post was misread. It is all related. If I did renew my GC back in 2022, I would be denied and probably deported anyways due to the nature of the charge. Secondly there is an RCW in WA saying I cannot vacate my charge until 2025. So, you see, renewing GC is not an option at this point. I will post back here with the outcome, to further educate what happens in these circumstances.
  7. I’ve been there with immigration/criminal attorneys. I have to wait to vacate record in Oct 2025. I just wondered if it was possible to regain entry back to the USA, on perhaps a visa to stay temporarily. I guess I will find out when it comes to. Thank you all for your responses.
  8. Thank you for responding! Yes a 10 year GC. Ok I file an I-90? I may be denied since I have a misdemeanor and cannot vacate my record until Oct 2025. I’m pretty much shot gaining entry right?
  9. Hello fellow VJ members! I was here 15 years ago starting my journey and currently in Oregon. My GC expired 2022, and understand the rule of 6 months prior to expiration, to renew. I have had a legal pickle which disabled me from doing so. I need to visit family in London for a few months. My question is will my expired GC be forgiven upon gaining entry into the US? I have spoke with my attorney but he didn’t mention about this part. I have had conflicting information so I would appreciate any advice that could be given. Thank you for reading!
