  1. Happy everything went smoothly for you! Sadly I didn't get one,tti had the same issue getting an appointment, but didn't know i needed one until I was there and had waited for an hour only to be told they don't do walk ins for this. Beside that, the SSA in Jacksonville kept redirecting me to the work authorization and Adjustment of status being the only way to get one. Apparently I didn't have enough anxiety as I was convinced this would go smoothly 🀣 The regulations on their own website state i CAN get one, if I can prove not to use it for work. Husband is military, so they need an SSN for me to add me to his health insurance and such, so requested them for proof of this.... all and all too much time passed and we now just waiting for it to come during the Adjustment of status. Deep sigh... sadly it's not easy easy for everyone 🀣
  2. Seeing this late, I had the same! I am currently in the states and it now definitely shows my admission and that I entered on a K1! 😁 Your question is already been answered, I just hope this input helps reducing the stress it may have caused 🀭 Good luck! πŸ˜ƒ
  3. Ehm... i am not fully sure about what you mean with Document Qualified. i took all my documents to the interview.πŸ€” If you mean after i had sent the DS-160 Confirmation page and they replied to that: The earliest option i got for the interview was only 6 days later! I chose to push it back a bit, and made an appointment for 6 weeks later, as this was more convenient for my situation.😁
  4. in the meantime, ive had my interview and it got approved as well. it felt like a narrow escape back then and i was very nervous for everything, but everything was wrapped up well in time! Visa is Issued and it is valid until December 7th, which is 6 months after my medical. In this case its the Approved Petition (I-129F) that is valid for 4 months in which you have to get ready and plan and attend the interview. I think i understood what you were trying to share, but the details were a bit off Also: The NOA2 being Automatically extended was hard to believe for me, by the way, since i got multiple answers on this question elsewhere as well. I think Mixel made a good call to reach out and ask. The answer shows that the consulate has indeed a requirement (a new letter) to extend it, which means its is not fully automatic. At least it dont seem that way for Frankfurt. I dont know about other consulates though
  5. Did they not bring you to one of those rooms in the back? what's it called...Secundary? I've read storier of people who had to wait there for like 2 hours before anyone got to them 😱 Also: The CBP officer has to put in that info About entering on a K1 right? That's just something i'd need to check later? Because the I94 is electronic and Phones at the customs area are not allowed, so i can not check it right away.πŸ€” 😬Not knowing the situation is what makes me nervous the most🀣 At least the airport is familiar I've always traveled over Atlanta and the last time the guy didn't even look at my passport. Face recognition was sufficient apparently 🀣 I had a cheaper option when it came to tickets, but i paid more so i could fly over Altanta again, so i'd have at least something familiar upon arriving πŸ˜‚ Not having to figure out where to go and how tot get there at an unfamiliar airport on top on being nervous on being there on a K1 is helpful 🀭 I have a connecting flight. and i made sure to book extra time for the lay over. 5 hours is enough yes? (well 4 hours and 51 minutes, but you get the point)
  6. Just to make sure... The envelope i got from the consulate is sufficient information, yes? I do not have to bring any additional paperwork again? Or do I need to bring all originals of everything I brought to the interview yet again? Some papers are important enough I will bring them anyway, like my birth certificate. Seems like something I would need at some point. But do I need to assemble a packet with information again? Do I need to bring proof again?
  7. Thank you! Ill make sure to show the Visa page when checking in, and to ask where to go stand in line at arrival. I was expecting the K1 having a document number i had to enter when booking. But there was no options for that, nor a box to give extra info from my side. What you say makes sense now, haha. i gotta chill🀣 Wearing a Badge was a joke of course 🀭
  8. Hey hello, its me again😁 I have been reading experiences from others here, and i get mixed info again, so...Questions, Do i have to make a note somewhere in my booking for my flight to the states that i will be traveling on a K1? Do i maybe have to say this at the desk when i go to check in at the day of my flight? In Which line do i stand at the port of entry? Citizens or other? I Just also Checked the status of My ESTA, It is somehow still Valid and i now wonder if there may be any confusion down the line. For some reason i feel i need to wear a Neon sign alerting everyone im using a K1 πŸ˜‚ How does this part work?
  9. Good luck! Hoping for the best for you πŸ˜πŸ€—
  10. Lol, yeah everything fine so far! Booked my flight, made some arrangement, canceling subscription.. there's a lot to think about in this whole process! Currently having a crisis packing, I don't want to bring any more than 2 checked suitcases because of the expenses, but I keep selecting way too much to pack! As for moving any furniture and such, I just won't. My roommate is staying in the house we have, and said I can leave things behind and use the house as free storage 🀣 When I have my greencard and when I'm allowed to travel, I'll just go back with empty suitcases and stuff them again with stuff I left behind because I didn't immediately need them. If not... oh well. It's just stuff anyway. Everything is replaceable and nothing is that important I absolutely cannot go without. Both my fiance and me are super excited since there's only 3 weeks left before I go! πŸ˜ƒ it's been such a long wait and it seemed endless, and now time goes by so fast I fear I won't be ready 🀣🀣 does it make sense? I mean, I also still work full time πŸ₯΅ I only have the weekends and those are claimed by my fiance πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Beside all that, we are both beyond happy πŸ₯° I'll update more later, I live sharing my story here in hopes anyone may be helped by it during their own process. These moods are all a part of it πŸ˜‚ -X-
  11. Hmm yeah, its not worth the risk or the delay to me. we are going to file for AoS as soon as we can. Getting the 3rd Shot for Hep B will be done far before approval, considering processing times. I think that's not going to be issue.πŸ€” Also will indeed carry with me at all times: my Passport with Visa and copies of both marriage certificate and when i get it, the NOA1. In my opinion it seems very unlikely to get deported when you follow all the rules, guidelines and advice given when it comes to Visa's. There's always gonna be people who may need to look up the details and get more information or refresh what they already know. As long as you stay in the states, you can even travel, its just gonna put you on the radar maybe? Questions may be asked? Seems to me something more than a minor traffic thing needs to happen to get detained🧐 but then again, maybe the officer had a bad day, or was in doubt🀭
  12. Why would you wait that long before filing the AoS? πŸ€” Seems like that is asking for trouble along the way. no? Like, our plans are to get married in courthouse and file for AoS immediately. Both within the 90 days. Now im in a bit of doubt: Do i have to wait to file until i have had my 3rd Hep B shot? I have had all the required shots, exept the 3rd Hep B. Since AoS takes some time, sometimes even a year or up to 2 years, i will definetly have had it before it gets approved. As for A minor issue in traffic: When you show your K1, maybe with marriage certificate and NOA1 from the filing AoS, the police should know enough, shouldn't they? Or should i then avoid driving until i have my green card? 🀣
  13. oh then i misunderstood πŸ™ˆ thank you for the help!
  14. The doctor at the medical told me that if you ever had the shots, youre fine, though you need to proof you had them. they were not in the list of vaccines ive had as a child, since they are not a part of the immunization program in the netherlands. so for me it was clear i never had them before. The Tetanus shot (or DKTP) is the one that needs to be renewed when older than 10 years.
  15. I did not have enough time to get my shots before my medical. I got the first at the medical exam, which was expensive! For the second i went to a travel clinic. I called my doctors office and they directed me there. It was cheaper: about half what i paid at the medical. The third will be in December, and for that ill make an appointment to go get it. My Fiance is with the US navy so he said we can just go to base and get it done. So, youll hear from me again in december about this subject πŸ˜‚ Since you need 3 shots of Hep B, I can recommend anyone to start getting the shots as soon as the petition is filed! from petition to medical exam it took me 9 months, which means i could have anticipated a lot better, saving myself a lot of money and i would not have had to pay it all at once (my medical cost me about 530 euros). A friend of mine who just completed the CR1 process started getting her shots as soon as her petition was approved, and at the medical her preparations were much appreciated. also it therefor only cost her about 180 euros at the medical itself, also because a lot of it was covered by her health insurance
  16. Thank you for your answer! She checked if her Visa said "IV Docs in CCD" and it did! All her stuff is been sent electronically. P.S: my visa is not employment based. I got my K1 recently and i did in fact get the envelope
  17. Hi everyone. I am asking this question for a friend who got approved last friday in Brussel for her CR1 Visa. She just told me she picked up her passport today, with the visa which is completely correct, but she did not get an envelope she has to take to port of entry when she enters the US. I myself got approved for a K1 and recently got my passport, visa and PoE envelope, Which i told her of course. So, now my friend wonders and asks if she was supposed to get one as well. Can anyone tell me? Since CR1 is different from K1, i do not have a clear answer for her. i did read the CR1 guide to see if theres anything in there, but i am still unsure Thanks in advance!
  18. Good to hear everything worked out for you! Good luck on your interview, Wish you the best
  19. Im going to keep this generic. Translation is needed for the following Documents: Birthcertificate, if not in Consulate Native Language Divorce or Death certificate from Former spouse , if applicable and if not in Consulate Native Language Police Report, of ALL countries where the applicant has lived after age 16, for longer than 6 months. They then all need to be translated to either english or consulate native language. Military Report, if applicable and if not in consulate native language Criminal record/ Court records, if applicable and if not in condsulate native language. Also: ALL Evidence an applicant would like to submit which is not in English or Consulate Native language, needs to be translated as well. Next not so generic: Please stay kind to the people who are trying to help you out. Otherwise they might just leave you to figure it out on your own. Good Luck!
  20. Hi there! I dont know how this goes exactly in South Africa, but for me 'Packet 4' was an E-mail to my personal e-mail address. All it said was that i was approved to go ahead and schedule the appointment for my interview, which i had to do myself indeed. Follow the intrusctions in packet 3 and packet 4 will follow later For me the instructions were to file and submit form DS-160 and email the consulate the confirmation page. When i had done that, the 'Packet 4' e-mail followed 2 days later. This may be different for you, as your operating consulate will be in south africa and mine was in Germany. Though a lot of the process may be the same, Sometimes there are Consulate specific instructions. Take your time reading Packet 3, and dont worry about the time. It will turn out to be enough to prepare! i hope this helps Good Luck!
  21. And Already Issued as well! They work pretty fast there in frankfurt! πŸ˜‚ I want to thank everyone for all the questions answered, all the information shared and all the nerves calmed 😘 I Will continue to do the same for others here on the forum 😊
  22. haha, thank you! My fiance and I are both so exited, we've absolutely had it with all the waiting. More patience required, aye!πŸ˜†
  23. Any indication on the time you and your fiance noticed the status was updated? ive been checking what feels like every 15 minutes or so, and nothing yet. I know im incredibly impatient, but i just wanna be able to shake this nervous feeling 🀣 im so done with it
