  1. Thank you for your advice! That's something that I read a lot and it just doesn't sound... modern to me. Of course we married because we love each other. I didn't marry specifically for the green card, but it's important for our relationship to be able to live in the same place as my wife.
  2. Thank you for your answer! We'd have to behave ourselves because our main love languages are physical touch and words of affirmation and that would be weird in an interview with a third person...
  3. Thank you so much for your answer! Neither of us has big families and they don't live in the US. I dont have siblings, I don't talk with my father and my mother lives in Spain. My wife's parents live in Mexico but they're not close at all... They moved back awhile ago. We just opened a bank account and hopefully we will be able to find an apartment before Summer...
  4. Hi! I’m 29F (F1 student at graduate school) and my wife is 35F (US Citizen). We’re a gay couple and since we met last year our relationship grew very intensely. I went to my country of origin for Christmas and when I came back she proposed to me, we got married couple weeks ago in civil ceremony because we don’t have family here (all of our parents live in other countries) and we don’t have many close friends in our state so we decided to keep it low key. I officially moved with her when we got married (after I could get rid of my previous lease) but I’m not on the lease because we’re planning to move to another apartment (she has a roommate). We only submitted 20 photos of both of us(3 of wedding pictures) and a joint car insurance. We just opened a joint bank account so we didn’t think it was ok to include it because we haven’t even got the debit cards yet. Is there any chance that our interview could be waived? I get really nervous and just thinking about going through that with a person who can decide my future makes me anxious. Any similar cases that have gone through the whole process? Thank you!
