  1. Since November has their stats covered, I'll go ahead and drop them in here for us October filers! Today's stats: March 12, 2025 2:25pm CST October 2024 Filed I-485 Stats • Approved: 1932 • Denied: 180 • FingerprintScheduled: 239 • InterviewCancelled: 108 • InterviewScheduled: 902 • Processing: 36,631 • Received: 566 • Rejected: 95 • RFE: 543 • Terminated: 115 • Withdrawal: 15 • Others: 23
  2. I'm sorry if you interpreted that as rude. I wanted to see the thread where that was stated so we could get context. Ask anyone here, I'm the first to call out rude replies towards myself.
  3. I did double check and according to USCIS, I'm an October filer. Suppose I should stay in my lane. Sorry!
  4. I mean, if that's the case, how useful are the daily updates when the workload varies drastically between lockboxes?
  5. "I've seen people"--where? Here? Link to thread. The status change is universally applied through USCIS, and is the prompt to start checking status via NVC. You can attempt to send an NVC inquiry at this time to request your case number. Usually people send the first inquiry around 4 weeks but you're welcome to try. Otherwise, make sure your fiancé has their documents in order: birth certificate, police clearance, etc. Start saving for travel/wedding plans, as well as the impending medical.
  6. We were able to get coverage through healthcare.gov for my husband after we were married, even before the EAD. A spouse who comes here on K1, as soon as the wedding happens, is eligible. You're taking the hardest route possible if you're trying to expedite AP. Get her on the ACA. Jon needed to stay on his blood pressure meds as he only brought 3 months' worth. Kind of shame you waited this long, might have to work with the ACA agents to see if you meet special enrollment based on marriage. There's a time limit on that.
  7. That's so weird. I thought the blocks were just a portion of one month, with the possibility based on the calendar to overlap months. How would 283 span September to November? Are there no blocks specifically in October?
  8. There must be some kind of month overlap with my block (09-283). Either that, or where I pull stats is inaccurate. For instance my block has 9,766 cases in total, with a little over 8800 in Processing. But we have 266 approvals.... more than the month in total based on your numbers. Color me befuddled.
  9. Agreed. That subreddit is sadly a great place to fearmonger. This is not the first update to the I-485 and it won't be the last. An auto-denial based on forms is not the end of the world. They don't cash your checks, everything gets sent back and you resubmit. Adds maybe a few weeks to something that can take months to years.
  10. As @PGA requested, can you fill out your timeline for us? There's mutual benefit here, the community can receive data related to cases similar to yours, and we can assist in giving you a greater perspective on how long it could be. Half the battle here is being in the dark through a long process that involves starting a life with your favorite person. But with a timeline, and others doing timelines, we can shed some light on the scenario. I wish the best for you and your fiancée. Please take care of yourselves. We all know the difficulties of waiting here. Use this time to strengthen your relationships because being together after the K1 also provides relational strain and challenges. You're signing up for a lifetime of that. Continue to strengthen your bond, and your personal fortitude. None of this is easy --just don't tell my husband that
  11. Please read MalloryCat's response again. The inquiry is most effective around 30-60 days after your case was sent to the Department of State, but based on workloads at the NVC can vary. Tracking is available through the link she provided as well, once you have a case number in the NVC reply. Persistence AND patience are key with the NVC. This stage is nebulous and extremely varied in terms of length, as other have mentioned. For the Philippines specifically, it may be useful to consult your country's thread in the regional discussions section. @maryaaaa is also correct, as we waited almost five months at NVC and even received a second, updated NOA2. You never know.
  12. If he still doesn't, a human trafficking hotline and a lifeline to supportive family members abroad, perhaps through community contacts, would be my next steps. I wouldn't bother with the word abuse in this case. Human trafficking is a familiar topic for me and this is clearly it.
  13. Assuming you are the attorney, I see no issue in applying a G-28 to each form. I have no idea if that's necessary, but seems a pretty innocuous redundancy. If you're not the attorney, let your attorney handle it.
  14. I'll let others weigh in greatly on the tax situation (my only advice there is sort your own financial status, since you are looking long term work towards earning more on your own) but I want to advise you on this one thing: you cannot time this yourself, as hard as you want to try. Legislation in immigration policy, world events, YOUR personal events, all of that can change the timeline. You're not going to get a good sense of your timeline until you're actually in the moment of filing, and even then, this is a very nebulous process which is near impossible to predict. Work on the now, get your financial status under control and continue to work on your relationship until graduation.
  15. I've been questioning if since our case was received in October but the NOA dated November, we are one month or another. Ignoring batch I've decided to identify as a November filer because it's more fun over here lmao
  16. 1) my now-husband worked with Docassist to get a quote based on a variety of expedited timeframes for the PCC. I won't give you our quote because it may have changed given current workloads, but worth looking into. Suffice to say he was able to get his PCC in something like 3 weeks. 2) It'll be in Joberg, but you can do your medical in Cape Town. Look up Dr. Marcus Brauer, he's the civil surgeon you need to see in the Cape. Since we did the process last summer the trend has been that your medical needs to be 3+ weeks out from the interview in order for it to pass administrative processing. Even then, it's no guarantee. Luckily if you poke the embassy a bit after the interview they will connect the dots and bring the medical documentation to the surface. 3) Brauer's got you covered. Just schedule your medical once you have heard that your case shipped out of the NVC to Joberg. If you have prior vaccination records, bring them, but honestly you can take care of them all in one appointment. Now-husband didn't have any prior records, and we got it done. Any further questions about the K1 process from ZA, feel free to reach out <3 Also, get that timeline started, it helps the community by contributing current data!
  17. I take it this means you received your NOA2? NOA2 has a four month validity period, which can be extended should the wait time require it. When our case was projected to take longer than the four months, we were a bit rattled because USCIS sent us a new NOA2 with new validity dates.
  18. That was such a weird exit. I was watching the Kash Patel vote and when McConnell went aye I was like, what's the catch Mitch? Immediately followed with his retirement speech. Senator Turtlehead perhaps thinks the Patel vote will save his tarnished legacy. Cute.
  19. A completed timeline is the best way to thank us, and assist others on their visa journeys. Please contribute by sharing your timeline! https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=484229
  20. For us the shipping time was just about a week. However that may be longer or shorter for you out there in Hawaii. Depends on where the card is produced. Congratulations!
  21. Agreed, you will be fine with copies. Have your fiance review his packet letter from the embassy with the instructions but ultimately if they demand originals over copies, there will be time to fix that. In regards to the amended declaration of intent for the interview, signatures do not have to be "wet": a copy will do.
  22. Again Trump being hyperbolic but I love the hot take:
  23. Man this is the hot take of the day, lol Trying to figure out what it has to do with the Munich speech: which yes, everyone should watch. The tepid claps of the globalists filled me with glee.
  24. OMG why am I even in this thread, please go easy on the directed cynicism because we actually had an awesome 1st Valentine's together. Jon and I have seen seven "v-days" since we met, this is the first one we've enjoyed in each other's presence. We went to the symphony and watched Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince with a live performance of the score. We met over being mutual Potterheads and thought it apt. Great night, involved some really good halibut cheeks and Chilean sea bass before hitting the theater.
  25. Stop getting my hopes up, damn you! 😆🤣😂 I'm trying to be PATIENT HERE
