  1. Great, then we will work on resending this ASAP. I really appreciate your help and insight into the process on USCIS's part-- it is truly invaluable knowledge to have.
  2. Just curious on this, if we messed anything else up on the application, would they also include that on the form? or do they usually just try payment first? In other words: could it be worth it to wait if we are worried we made any mistakes on anything? We checked the packet a million times for errors so I doubt this is the case. I am just wondering. Thank you so much for all the help. It is greatly appreciated.
  3. I am going to go that route then since I have the copies of everything, I just need to obtain the passport photos and medical form again (but dr is willing to re-sign and reseal for $50). There shouldn't be any unexpected issues with a personal check from my checkbook, right? I do worry about the mail getting lost and losing the money order...But I am certainly not trying the credit card again, even if I approved the transaction now. Not worth the risk again. Also: do I need to put a cover letter or anything stating I know the payment was declined and I'm filing again with amended payment? I know normally they ask you resend the amended packet with the slip they included with why it was rejected...
  4. Thank you. For some reason, I had no idea this was common. Do you know how long on average it takes to get the packet back? I’m seriously considering compiling everything together again and resending so I don’t have to wait a month or more for the packet to come back.
  5. I’m utterly devastated. We filed our I-130 and I-485 concurrently and mailed it last Saturday. Just now I got notice from my bank that the card was declined for suspicious activity . Is there any way to resolve this or are we screwed?
  6. Thank you all. We submitted everything Saturday, now the waiting game begins. In the meantime, I will be using the account for rent, credit card bills, etc. Appreciate all the help.
  7. Thank you all so much. I will submit it as-is then. I appreciate you.
  8. Ah. I did not know that. So should I just focus on submitting it right now and not worry about it?
  9. Thank you so much! So you think i'm good to put the joint account in there with the few withdrawals? or just omit it altogether? I am also working on getting her added as an authorized user on my credit card.
  10. I feel I may have made a mistake regarding a joint bank account, and looking for help before we submit our i-130/i-485 concurrent filing packet. A quick timeline: December 2023- my now wife arrives to USA on tourist visa May 2024- We get married I have spent the last several months researching on this process and also we set up a joint bank account a month ago. However, there's only a few payments on it when we got our statement, none of which were bills because I usually have autopay and pay them all on my other card she isn't on... I didn't even think to change my billing cards. So I am worried of raising eyebrows. I really want to get this stuff submitted ASAP, as she is currently overstaying. Will this look super suspicious with just 3 or 4 withdrawals from our joint account, or should I add her to my personal bank account? Should I hold off on submitting everything and be sure to make payments this month? Or can I not use the bank account in our packet altogether? Should I maybe put a few thousand into a joint savings instead? For reference, here is what we have gathered thus far: -Joint electric bill -Joint health insurance - 2 Joint leases (both from the last year and a renewal for next year) -My life insurance with her listed as my beneficiary -Joint internet bill -Confirmation of a Disney vacation I took with my wife, my mother, and my siblings -Hotel confirmations of us together in years prior in both USA and Mexico (where she's from) -Marriage certificate & marriage photos -Misc. photos including graduations, birthdays, Christmas, and Easter with mixed family on both sides -Screenshots of social media posts posting about each other dating back to 2019 Will the bank account hold a ton of weight? Again, I just really want to get this packet submitted to start the wait time. However, I do not want to rush if this is truly something that holds a lot of weight. Thank you in advanced for any advice/solution suggestions.
  11. Hello, I am in the process of filling out the i-130 for my spouse who is here in the USA with me. I am not sure where this office is located. We are in PA. Does anyone know where we can obtain this info? Is it the same as the office we are mailing the i-130 form into?
  12. Adding on to this question, since we are filling out the paperwork. Does this count as government support in terms of the affidavit of support (i-864)?
  13. Thank you thank you!!! I was searching for this page and could not find it. I super appreciate it!!
  14. Hello! My now wife and I just got married this weekend. We are planning on adjusting status from her tourist visa. I want to get her onto a health insurance plan ASAP, but my workplace has it out to be SO expensive. I see that in my State (PA), with my income, I qualify for insurance HALF the price of my workplace. Am I able to use this insurance, or does that count as not being able to financially support petitioning for her? For reference, I am looking to apply through "Pennie" in PA.
