Hello, I was recently approved for a IR1 IV and my USC spouse and I are planning to move to the US soon (we both live in Canada currently). From my understanding, I will be eligible for ACA healthcare once I enter the US. My question is about the sign up process on healthcare.gov - Do I include my foreign income (i.e. the income earned from employer in Canada from Jan 2025 - this income will stop once I move to the US) when estimating the total income for 2025?

@pushbrk Thank you. Sharing my experience, I had my interview recently and the Montreal consulate asked if I had brought the I-864 but did not ask to see it.

Hello, I have my interview scheduled in a few weeks and I’m wondering if the original I-864 (with wet signature) is required or is a print out of the form accepted by NVC on CEAC sufficient? I know that the Montreal Consulate checklist doesn’t mention this explicitly so I am wondering if anyone had any experience with this.

Thank you for your answers! I take #3 as completing a new I-864 and bringing it at the time of the interview with the new evidence. Is this correct? (I think I to have to upload it to the NVC portal, not sure about that yet).

My wife has lived most of her life in the US and been living in Canada for the last 10 years - She had a valid state Voter ID card - She has a US bank account and credit card - US student loans - Kept a mailing at her parents address - We travel to the US to see her parents every year We plan on providing proof that we are looking for apartments and daycare for our child stateside.

Hello, My wife (USC petitioner) and I (intending immigrant) live in Canada and are in the process of collecting documents for I-864. Since my wife has no US income and her parents live in the US, her dad has agreed to be the joint sponsor. However her mom and dad are getting a divorce (currently they are still married but living separately). Here are the forms that we think need to be filled up: I-864 filed by my wife (petitioner) I-864 filed by by my father-in-law (joint sponsor): Her dad's income alone is enough to meet the income threshold. I-864A filed by my mother-in-law (household member of joint sponsor) since they filed taxes jointly Question #1: Is the above correct? Since they are still married we think my father-in-law is required to add my mother-in-law as a household member so they have to file both a I-864 and I-864A. Question #2: Do the joint sponsor (my father-in-law) AND the household member (his wife) both assume financial responsibility for the intending immigrant (me)? Or is it only the joint sponsor? Question #3: Will I need to provide new evidence of financial support at the time of my consulate interview? Since the divorce will have finalized by then and the circumstances will have changed.
